There is so much to do and see in the bustling city of Hong Kong! Its neon-lit streets, magnificent temples, endless restaurants and quaint fishing villages are all part of the city's charm. It will not be like any place you have visited before. There's so much to do! So how do you decide on what to see and do when in Hong Kong? Here is a guide that will highlight all the things you can choose to do in 48 hours!

Symphony of Lights

This will be held at 8 pm every night and it is one of the best free things to do when in Hong Kong! The cityscape of Hong Kong is spectacular at any time of the day or even night! However, during this light show, the city turns quite magical and it’s truly enchanting! This is one of the world’s most spectacular light shows which lasts for 10 minutes! So, make sure you catch it. To explore most of Hong Kong in 48 hours, you must find accommodation at a central location. For instance, you can check out a Wan Chai hotel located close to most tourist attractions the likes of Cosmo Hotel Wan Chai Hong Kong.

Getting Dim Sum at Yum Cha

It is considered a crime not to try out the traditional dim sum when in Hong Kong! This is a Chinese dish that serves authentic traditional tea with a small basket of freshly steamed goodies. You can pretty much check out any of the teahouses when in Hong Kong to locate and taste this incredible traditional beverage.

Tian Tan Buddha

This is a remote monastery that was recently transformed into a popular tourist attraction in recent years. And with good reason too! It’s 34 m high and was built back in 1993. It comprises a massive Buddha statue that looks after and guards the Chinese people. You can take a trek up to enjoy the panoramic views of the sea and mountains! It is open to the public from 10 am onwards till 4:30 pm.

Victoria Peak

If you do not have enough time, but still want to see what Hong Kong is all about, then head to Victoria Peak. This is also referred to as Mount Austin and is 552 m high and is the highest peak on Hong Kong Island. It is open to the public from 7 am onwards till 12 am and will only cost you around $12. The views? It is unlike anything you might have witnessed before! It is the perfect place in the city to catch a glorious orange and pink sunset!

Star Ferry

Book a ferry ride for just a dollar. This ferry will take you back and forth between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Station. It is a relaxing rider that offers scenic views! As it’s crazily affordable, you cannot miss this opportunity! This ferry runs every 5 to 12 minutes from 6:30 am onwards till 11:30 pm during weekends and weekdays.

Harbour Cruise

Do you want to witness a picturesque Ferry ride? Then check out the harbour cruise which will be the perfect excursion tailored just for you. You can witness the best panoramic views of the city skylines which is seen from a different vantage point. Although it might be a little pricier than most activities, it will be well worth your money!

Man Mo Temple

This temple is dedicated to Holy King-Emperor Kwan and King-Emperor Man. It has been split into three separate compounds that you can explore. If you would like to seek blessings and spiritual help, make sure to visit this divine temple.
