Tipped to be one of the country's leading cultural institutions, the Singapore ArtScience Museum is a must-visit highlight for all visitors holidaying in the country. Set up nearly 10 years ago, this iconic venue is Singapore's only cultural hub that blends science, technology, and art to educate and entertain. From timing the visit to making the most of the experience, here are some tips on how to plan your tour of the ArtScience Museum.

1. Stay at a Convenient Base

Those who wish to spend more time at the Singapore ArtScience Museum should ideally stay in a strategically located rest close to the venue. Whether it's a city hall hotel in Singapore the likes of the Grand Park City Hall or any other rest, it is important to consider your base and its proximity to the museum. As a relatively new attraction in Singapore, the Singapore ArtScience Museum is a highly popular point of interest frequented by tourists from around the world so beating the crowds may prove to be a challenge for those who are not based in a nearby hotel or resort.

2. Get a Head Start

All visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets to tour the Singapore ArtScience Museum online prior to their arrival. Open from 10 am to 7 pm, the best time to visit the museum is within the first hours after its opening. This is due to the fact that the influx of tourists and visitors only increases as the day wears on and it will prove difficult for travellers to spend quality time interacting with the exhibits if this is the case. Make sure not to schedule any other major sightseeing excursion for the morning period as the large number of exhibits on show at the Singapore ArtScience Museum means that it will take at least half a day to explore.

3. Start with the Future World Enclave

This is the first point of interest one comes across inside the flower-shaped Singapore ArtScience Museum and it is the perfect introduction to what the venue has to offer visitors. Don't skip this area of the museum as it will set the tone for the rest of the tour. This mesmerising digital interactive art installation is the perfect blend of science, art, metaphor, and magic and the only permanent exhibition at the museum. Transporting visitors across a City in a Garden, Sanctuary, Park, and Space, the interactive exhibit also includes the stunning Sliding through the Fruit Field artwork.

4. Stop by Virtual Realms

Running till the beginning of 2022, the Virtual Realms exhibit transforms videogames to create otherworldly installations that take visitors on a sonic and kaleidoscopic journey into diverse worlds. Virtual Realms: Videogames Transformed brings together 6 of the globe's leading videogame creators to create an atmosphere that blends 21st-century video game design with contemporary art. As an installation that's curated and managed by London's Barbican, with the help of video game developing genius Tetsuya Mizuguchi, fans of fictional worlds can truly get lost in this area of the ArtScience Museum.

5. Don't Forget the VR Gallery

Opening its doors to the public in July 2021, the VR Gallery is the newest addition to the exhibition hotspots at the ArtScience Museum. Using state-of-the-art VR controllers and other equipment including headsets, this one-of-a-kind venue allows one to encounter virtual reality technology on a truly cinematic scope. This permanent gallery space will continue to push the envelope on what VR technology can offer the realm of artistic expression by collaborating with the globe's leading artists to come up with cutting edge virtual reality art that will inspire and inform.
