Xi'an often does not appear in people's travel plans when visiting China, and that is most definitely a mistake. If people do visit Xi'an by coincidence, they tend to stay one or two days and only visit the Terracotta Warriors and immediately leave. If this is the case, you will be missing out on a lot of fun activities, which you can only enjoy in Xi'an. Here is a list that highlights all the best activities in Xi'an that you should not miss out on.

HuiMin Jie Muslim Market

The HuiMin Jie Muslim Market is a top location with visitors and local people in Xi'an. The road here is bordered by stalls that offer food, beverages, nibbles, spices, and a range of other products. Don't only stay on the main road, also manoeuvre the alleys. Many souvenirs stores, including art collections as well as other products, can be found. You can also indulge in duplicate designer bags.

Great Mosque of Xi'an

The Hui Muslims are an ethnic group in China and the Great Mosque of Xi’an is often frequented by them. They are the offspring of the traders taking part in the commerce along the Silk Road. At this mosque, there are neatly manicured pavilions as well as courtyards that offer a welcome distraction from the ever-busy roads. Set aside enough time to explore this place alone to truly marvel at the ingenuity of the architecture.

Cycling on the City Wall

Cycling on the City Wall of Xi’an is really popular. The City Wall of Xi'an is, actually, among the last walls preserved and properly maintained in this country. The wall of the Ming Dynasty was constructed throughout the period from 1300 BC to 1700 BC. It is amazing to see a wall standing mighty and high even after several centuries. The wall also offers amazing views of the city. Rent a bike if you want to get to the top. It will take roughly one or two hours to cycle around the wall, an experience you will not regret! If you are seeking Xi An China hotels in the neighbourhood, you can check out properties like Grand Park Xian, which is located approximately 3.6 kilometres away from the City wall.

The Drum and Bell Towers

In the centre of Xian are the Drum and the Bell Towers. This location played a key role in prehistoric times. These were rung loudly during certain emergencies and occasions to signal people. There is no longer a need for these bells; however, you can still visit this place to snap amazing pictures. After the dark has set in, the towers are lighted up, adding a mystic ambience to its surroundings.

Day Trip to Hua Shan

The most perilous spot for a hike will definitely be Hua Shan. Do not let that reputation shy you away from visiting this place. The mountains are a must visit and should be on your sightseeing agenda. Well, when heading up you must keep a lookout for the plank that has been nailed to the mountainsides. You will be strapped and harnessed to reach the opposite side of the plank for your own protection. If you're not up for it, check out the cable cars to reach the peak. The views are truly amazing from the top.

Terracotta Warriors

While this may have been mentioned last on this list, you must remember that this is the best. It is definitely Xi'an's best part. The Terracotta Warriors are famous all over the world. A drive here from the city will only take around an hour. The army of soldiers displayed here is made of a particular clay called terracotta. The warriors are well-lined in order to defend the afterlife of Emperor Qin Shi Huang.
