You will find that it is very simple to reach Pattaya from practically any part of Thailand. Since Pattaya happens to rank amongst Thailand's important coastal destinations for tourists, it may be accessed via several van, bus and train links from the city of Bangkok. Irrespective of where you happen to be in Thailand, you are almost certain to find that you must first travel to Bangkok, and from there to Pattaya.

Getting from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya

The Airport Pattaya Bus will be a good way to reach Pattaya. You will find that this bus service first departs at 05:30, then at 06:00, and then at each hour till 22:00. If you travel by this bus, you may get off at Pattaya at the Sukhumvit highway's central (klang) or south (tai) junction or Thappraya Road.

You may also choose the Bell Travel Bus which departs from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 08:00 and then at two-hourly intervals until 18:00. This will take you to the bus station at North Pattaya; from there you will be taken to your accommodation by minibus.

You can also take a public taxi to travel to Pattaya from Suvarnabhumi. They will be available at all hours of the day and you will pay a fixed rate. However, the quickest and easiest way to travel would be to pre-book a private taxi.

Getting to Pattaya from Don Mueang Airport

You will find that the sole direct route to reach Pattaya from Don Mueang would be by taxi. Similarly to Suvarnabhumi, you will find metered taxis ready to transport you to Pattaya at Don Mueang.

Another good option would be to travel to Mo Chit bus terminal from Don Mueang, and from there board a bus for Pattaya. You will be able to hire a taxi to take you to the Mo Chit bus terminal from Don Mueang, but it will be much cheaper to take the A1 bus. You will find that this bus service leaves for Mo Chit at 10 to 20-minute intervals from 07:00 to 24:00.

Travelling to Pattaya using other bus services

Visitors will find that the Roong Reuang Coach provides frequent and regular bus travel to the North Pattaya Bus Station departing from three main bus terminals as well as a bus stop at Bangkok. These would be the Mo Chit (Northern), Ekamai (Eastern) and Sai Tai (Southern) bus terminals in addition to the Bang Na bus stop.

There are a number of coach and bus companies that service routes across Thailand from Pattaya bus terminals. You may be able to book seats on some of these online, or if that is not possible, by telephoning or going in person to book seats several days ahead.

Additionally, you may use the Nakhon Chai bus service which picks up passengers from a terminal at Pattaya's Sukhumvit highway. This bus service also offers numerous routes departing from Bangkok.

You will find that the Yellow Bus and Chan Tour bus services also provide transport for visitors desiring to travel to Pattaya from other parts of Thailand, as well as in the opposite direction. After your tiring journey, an accommodation choice to consider where you can relax and unwind would be Avani Pattaya Resort which is amongst the easy to reach beach resorts in Pattaya.

Taking the train to Pattaya

Only on weekdays, you will find that a 3rd class train stops at the train station at Pattaya whilst travelling to Sattahip from the Hua Lamphong Railway Station (also referred to as the Bangkok Railway Station) in Bangkok. The railway network in Thailand is very extensive so that you can reach the city of Bangkok from many parts of the country. If you desire to take the train to Pattaya from Bangkok, it would be advisable to check the arrival times and schedules online.
