Another artificial island found in Dubai, Bluewaters Island is located off Jumeirah Beach. A whopping amount of money was poured into the construction of the island. The island is linked to the mainland by a bridge and an overpass. The main attraction here is Ain Dubai; the massive Ferris wheel offering spectacular views over Dubai Marina. Apart from the Ferris wheel, the island has a number of hotels and restaurants.

1.Getting to the island

Bluewaters Island is an easy journey from Dubai hotels, including Avani Ibn Battuta Hotel Dubai. The island is connected to the mainland by a footbridge: The Wharf Link. From Jumeirah Beach, it is an easy walk to the island. You can travel here by Metro – Dubai Marina Mall and Damac Metro Station are the closest to the island. Dubai’s latest transport mode, water taxis, are available to visitors. You can also get to the island by regular taxi or drive here by yourself.

2.Ain Dubai

This is the main highlight of Bluewaters Dubai, and one of the top things to do in Ibn Battuta. With a height of 210 metres, Ain Dubai is said to be the largest Ferris wheel in the world. It has 48 capsules, and the approximate time for one round is 45 minutes. The wheel can accommodate 1,400 people at a time. Each gondola has enough space for 40 people, and they are designed to offer the utmost comfort: there is also a gondola with a bar.

3.Cove Beach

The perfect place to spend a day soaking up the sun rays, Cove Beach is another attraction found here on the island. The Cove Beach restaurant offers a selection of delicious Mediterranean dishes. The three pools with the backdrop of the sea are ideal for some afternoon swimming. For those who fancy dancing, there is a beach club – to mingle with locals and for the best music and drinks, visit the beach club on the weekend.

4.The Rotunda

Offering Las Vegas-style performances and concerts, The Rotunda steals the hearts of tourists. The venue has 500 seats, and they are all set in a way that all guests can have a 360-degree view of the performances. There is not a day when The Rotunda doesn’t host some event, so make sure that you check the venue’s calendar before buying tickets.

5.The London Project

Among the island’s popular eateries is The London Project. The walls are decorated with art, and the in-house podcast always tunes into an important discussion. The menu has an extensive selection of food, including Oxford beef croquettes, ancho chilli squid, and the London favourite, fish and chips.

6.Opening times

All eateries and cafes on Bluewaters Island operate from 10 am to 1 pm every day. The shops are open from 10 am to 11 pm from Sunday through Tuesday and 10 am to 12 am on Thursday and Friday. The island has every facility you could think of. Public toilets are free to use and they come with all the modern amenities; even disabled people are offered a different set of toilets. The island also has changing rooms for babies. Guests with limited mobility can borrow wheelchairs, which is a free service. All over the island are prayer rooms where guests can attend to their religious rituals in peace.

7.The best month to visit

December is the best month to visit Bluewaters Island. Around this time of the year, the average temperature is 21 degrees, and it does not exceed the limit of 26 degrees. However, the hotel rates are at their highest during this period.
