As one of the world's most impressive developments, The Palm, is no ordinary feat of engineering in Dubai. Occupying pride of place in the Arabian Gulf, the archipelago is a manmade wonder in the iconic shape of a palm tree. Containing a host of five-star hotels and recreational hotspots including water parks and wildlife enclosures, here are some suggestions on how to make your stay in The Palm, Dubai a memorable experience.

1. Splash around at Aquadventure Water Park

With its very own private beach and jaw-dropping shark tank, there's no splash centre in Dubai quite as incredible as the Aquadventure Water Park. Lined with water slides of every conceivable size and scale, spending a day in this record-breaking wonderland is a great way to kick start a holiday in The Palm. Families with children will especially enjoy the many child-oriented rides and pools located within the Aquadventure Water Park. The shark tank is arguably the most impressive part of the park but this particular attraction is not for the faint of heart although every precaution has been taken to make the environment safe for visitors.

2. Have Fun at Dolphin Bay

Tipped to be one of The Palm's biggest highlight, Dolphin Bay allows tourists the chance to have up close and personal encounters with dolphins, sea lions and a host of other marine creatures. Visitors can also sign up for a Swim with the Dolphins experience package and enjoy the thrill of rubbing noses with the world's friendliest mammal. Don't forget to pop by the Lost Chambers Aquarium which provides a home for more than sixty-five thousand marine creatures including 14 types of manta rays and sharks. Those who wish to go scuba diving or snorkelling can also engage in these activities at the venue.

3. Dig into Brunch

Friday brunch is somewhat of an event in Dubai where the weekend officially falls on Friday and Saturday and the first day of the week is Sunday. There's no better way to kick start the weekend than with the famed Nobu High Brunch at The Palm. The Japanese dishes served in this highly sought after brunch also includes champagne and cocktails so couples and single visitors can experience a boozy meal that's fit for a king. Fork & Cork restaurant's brunch, as well as the scrumptious spread at the Secret Garden Brunch, is other highlight foodies visiting The Palm should not miss as the former includes live cooking demonstrations and cooking stations that are visible to the diners.

4. Cruise Away

Travellers with a penchant for sailing adventures should not miss the chance to sign up for a Splash Tour while they are exploring The Palm, Dubai as this 90-minute excursion is one of the best ways to get a sense of the archipelago. The speedboats used for the tour set out from the Dubai Marina for an immersive and memorable tour around The Palm and also make pit-stops at the Burj Al Arab before sailing past some of the city's most resplendent royal castles. As a cultural tour that also doubles as a recreational excursion, Splash Tours will be an exhilarating journey for families as well as couples. Tourists who wish to experience the coastline for themselves can also opt for a kayaking tour with SeaYou and paddle around The Palm at their own pace while taking in the sights.

5. Get a Bird's Eye View

While it may not be for everyone, jumping off a plane over The Palm with Skydive Dubai just may be the best way to make the most of a tour of this manmade archipelago. Head out to the Palm Dropzone to board a plane and enjoy the rush of adrenalin as The Palm comes into view directly below when one is reaching speeds of 120 mph. Travellers based at the Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort or any other 5-star hotel in Dubai.
