If you are looking at transport options on how to get around Adelaide while you are there then you have already made a list of the different attractions in the city. You are aware that there are so many different things that you can visit, explore and experience and in order to do so you need to know how you can get from one location to another. Walking is definitely the best option when exploring the city area of Adelaide but you can also use the bus or the tram for longer distances.

On Foot

The city is beautiful, clean and the weather is delightful if you are visiting Adelaide during the months of March to May or September to November so walking in the city from one location to another is an experience in itself. Most of the attractions in Adelaide are situated a little away from the city centre but attractions such as the Adelaide Zoo and the Botanical Gardens of Adelaide are located in close proximity so you can walk from one location to the other. If you are staying at any of the Adelaide hotels you are not too far from the city centre or its attractions as most of the hotels such as Avani Adelaide Residences are located in between the city centre and the tourist attractions. If you wish to do some shipping you can walk towards Chinatown in Adelaide or the Adelaide Central Market as these are not too far from most of the hotels and other accommodations.

By Bus

The bus system in Adelaide has several sections to it. One is the City Connector which is a free bus service that connects to some of the attractions in the vicinity but it does not cover a vast area so even if you do take the City Connector you might have to walk the rest of the way to get to your destination. The bus routes for the City Connector are 99C, 98C, 99A and 98A and these connect to the Adelaide Metro which has more than 500 different routes. This is the best way to travel if you are looking to get on and off right near the locations such as the South Australian Museum or the Art Gallery of South Australia. You can also find the bus routes on the website where the schedule is posted along with any changes that happen on a daily basis. If you wish to you can take the JetExpress which is another bus service which connects the Adelaide city centre to the airport. The busfare for the trips tend to change during peak and non-peak hours and you can find all the relevant information from a Metro stop as well as on the internet.

Via the tram

A ride in the tram is also an option when travelling around Adelaide as there are some locations that go right to the attraction or the event centre such as the Adelaide Entertainment Centre which is where the main concerts, musical shows and theatre performances take place. Taking the tram is a good idea if you are looking to travel a little further away from the city centre as it does not make sense to hop on the tram for a few kilometres. The trams start their journeys at 5 am or 6 am every day and are generally available every fifteen to twenty minutes. You can get individual tickets for the tram whenever you are travelling a day pass which allows you any number of trips on the tram or a weekly or monthly pass depending on how long you are planning to stay in Adelaide and how you wish to be travelling. The price will depend on the distance you are travelling and also depending on the fact if it is a one-way ticket or a return ticket.
