Kuala Lumpur is one of the most amazing places to visit especially for a productive short stay if you don't have many holidays available. It is also one of the most underrated cities in the world. If you've got just 48 hours to visit, here's what to see and do during your time here.

Day 1

Petronas Towers

This is one of the most iconic attractions in Malaysia and is definitely a must-visit attraction. The twin towers are located in the very centre of the city and isn't hard to locate in the least bit. You can organise tours with a guide or even take a self-guided tour. It is one of the most wonderful places because the views of KL city from here are absolutely priceless!

There will be an entrance fee, so it is advisable to get there as early as possible so that you will not have to wait in line to buy tickets. Try to get into a morning slot so that you can avoid the rush. If this isn't possible, try to get into the afternoon slot. The evenings can get quite crowded. Also, try to stay in a hotel close to the attraction so that it is within easy reach.

KLCC Mall

KLCC Mall is also located in the heart of the city and is within easy reach from the Petronas Towers. If you love shopping, then this 100-acre shopping district is the place to be. Within the vicinity are well-recognised hotels like The Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotel for a good stay.

If you are travelling with family, then you definitely must visit the Aquaria KLCC where various marine life has been displayed. Some of the fish to look out for are the scary looking tiger-sharks, blue rays, sea snakes and small colourful coral fish. Altogether, there are over 150 species of aquatic life sheltered here. Apart from this, shopping and dining are activities you can indulge in here.

KL City Gallery and Museum

If you want to learn more about the country's past, then this is the best place to be. There are various models displayed for inspection as well as miniatures which tell the tales of the years gone by. You can also snap a picture for that Instagram post with the model which says, "I love KL".

Petaling Street Market

This is one of the most famous street markets to visit in Malaysia and offers a great deal of choice as well. It is just a five-minute walk from the KL City Gallery and Museum. You can find jewellery, handicrafts, clothing and even fresh fruits and vegetables here for sale.

Day 2

National Mosque of Malaysia

This is a beautiful example of Islamic architecture amalgamated with modern architecture to create a wonderful place. The mosque is open to Non-Muslims only at certain times and if you aren't dressed conservatively, then you could always borrow a robe from the counter here.

Menara Kuala Lumpur Observation Deck

This is another one of the modern marvels of KL that one ought to visit. it is one of the highest TV towers in the city. If you are looking for fine dining restaurants, well look no more. The ultimate revolving roof restaurant is on this tower. The experience here is truly luxurious.

Bukit Bintang

This is a wonderful more holiday-like place to visit. Try visiting the famous Batu Caves and you will be left in awe at the sheer beauty of the place. Head out to restaurants in Bukit Bintang for a taste of local cuisine for lunch and simply stroll about and have fun.
