Do not let your fears prevent you from travelling around Qatar's capital city of Doha at night. Even late at night, Doha is not a dangerous city. And it's the kind of city that truly comes to life after the sun goes down! Due to the sheer intense heat that occurs throughout the summer months, the city is actually busier at night than it is during the day.

The Souq; a traditional Arab market

The Souq must be at the top of your itinerary if you are seeking the best places to visit after dark. It is among the most enjoyable activities one can partake in while in Doha. It is not recommended to head to the Souq in the mornings or afternoons since it comes to life in the evenings. If you would like to take in the ambience of the Middle East (who wouldn't?), eat a traditional authentic dinner, or haggle for deals, then you really must visit at night. It truly is something that must be experienced! The old-world charm is on full display!

The Museum of Islamic Arts

It is customary for museums here to be open even at a later hour, but you should call ahead to confirm the most up-to-date opening times. The museum is a wonderful site to explore at night, and it even sometimes hosts free concerts and other special events. You may also take pleasure in the evening air at the park that is located next to the museum. The nighttime experience at this location is among the very best that Qatar has to offer. Some of the best hotels in Doha are located close to the museum giving you quick access. Properties like Al Najada Doha Hotel by Tivoli are only a walking distance away allowing you to enjoy the peace and quiet at night after a long day of exploring the city.

Take a stroll along the Corniche in Doha in the evening to gaze up at the cityscape

The skyline of Doha is among the most stunning. Tourists love to take a leisurely walk from the Museum of Islamic Arts to West Bay and just take in the vista. This is one of the favourite things to do among locals as well as tourists. And if you're looking for something a little bit different to do, why not try taking a dhow ride around the harbour to get a unique view?

Restaurant scenes

No matter what your dining budget is, Doha boasts an incredible restaurant scene. You will be able to choose from a wide variety of restaurants, ranging from those serving street food in the Souq to those in luxurious hotels. Contrary to the beliefs held by some, it is possible to consume alcoholic beverages, but only in certain establishments.

Night desert safaris

Dune bashing is a lot of fun, and the best time to head out is in the afternoon when you can witness the sun go down over the sand dunes. Camping here in the Qatari desert would certainly be an experience unlike any other, so why not give it a shot?

Experience Doha by Kayaking under the stars

If you are one of the more physically active members of the group, you may want to consider going kayaking underneath the star-studded skies of West Bay or the mangroves. If you are pressed for time, it is advised you remain in Doha rather than travel to the mangroves outside of the city. The nighttime skyline of Doha is truly magnificent, and there is no better way to take it all in than from the seat of a kayak.
