What are the best Louisville neighborhoods for homeowners looking for neighborhoods where they can rely on their car less or just get out, enjoy some fresh air, and get some more physical activity in by walking? Check out the list below for and discover popular Louisville neighborhoods among walkers.

Highlands

This is probably the most walkable neighborhood in Louisville. The Highlands has also been nicknamed “The Strip” and “Restaurant Row” because it is most famously known as the location of many of Louisville’s eclectic collection of local shops, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. The boundaries of the Highlands neighborhood include the intersection of Bardstown Road and Trevillian Way to the Intersection of Baxter Avenue and Lexington Road and to I-64 and the Newburg Road. There are some great single family home neighborhoods as well as apartment homes that make up the Highlands. Everything a walker could desire is just steps from a home in the highlands from the businesses listed above to a peaceful stroll around the lake at Cherokee Park.
