Springtime in Omaha is a season of renewal and excitement, as the city comes to life with a variety of events and activities. From music festivals to outdoor markets, there is something for everyone to enjoy. One of the most popular events during this time is the Kanpai!Con anime convention, which is held in April and draws anime enthusiasts from all over the region. Another is the arts festival which draws in thousands and showcases the work of over 100 artists.

There are several great events in Omaha that are worth checking out during the springtime. Here are some of the best:

1. Kanpai!Con

Kanpai!Con is a celebration of Japanese pop culture, with a focus on anime, manga, and cosplay. The event takes place over three days and features a variety of activities, including panels, workshops, screenings, and contests. Attendees can also browse a large exhibitor hall, where vendors sell everything from anime merchandise to Japanese snacks.

Kanpai!Con is a community-focused annual Japanese cultural appreciation convention, with a focus on anime, manga, and Japanese video gaming. Come to socialize with new friends in various settings, including our formal ball, room parties, and concerts. Wear your cosplay, meet special guests, and have fun in a family-friendly convention setting.

2. Florence Days Omaha

This event takes place in May in the historic Florence neighborhood and features a parade, car show, live music, and local food vendors. Florence is a historic neighborhood in north Omaha that was founded in 1854. The neighborhood is named after the wife of Nebraska's first territorial governor, James Cuming. Today, Florence is a thriving community that celebrates its rich history with events like Florence Days.

During Florence Days, the neighborhood comes alive with a variety of activities and events that celebrate the community's history and culture. The event kicks off with a parade that includes floats, marching bands, and local dignitaries. After the parade, attendees can enjoy a variety of activities, such as a car show featuring classic and vintage cars, live music performances, and local food vendors selling a variety of delicious treats.

Florence Days also offers visitors the opportunity to explore the neighborhood's many historic sites and landmarks. One of the most notable is the Florence Mill, which was built in 1846 and is one of the oldest buildings in Omaha. Today, the mill has been transformed into a community arts center that features art exhibits, live music, and other cultural events throughout the year.

Another must-see attraction in Florence is the historic Mormon Pioneer Cemetery, which is the final resting place of many early Mormon settlers who traveled to Nebraska on their way to Utah. The cemetery features a variety of grave markers and monuments that offer a glimpse into the lives of these early pioneers.

3. Omaha Concerts Series

This free concert series takes place on Thursday evenings at the Midtown Crossing at Turner Park. The lineup includes local and national jazz musicians, and attendees can bring their own blankets and chairs to enjoy the music under the stars.

4. Taste of Omaha

This food festival takes place each year and features over 50 restaurants and food trucks from the Omaha area. Attendees can sample a variety of cuisines, watch cooking demonstrations, and participate in a variety of activities.
