Feed Giraffes And More While On A Florida Safari!

Awesome Animal Encounters.

By Jim O'RearPublished 3 days ago 1 min read

Dade City, Florida, is home to an incredible attraction with a wide variety of animals to encounter called Giraffe Ranch. The location allows you to get up close and personal with hundreds of animals through special feeding encounters and a wide assortment of Safari Tours, including a tour on camel back, custom vehicle, and Segway. It’s the perfect way to get close to giraffes, cheetahs, sloths, lemur, bongos, hippos, and much more.

“We bought this Ranch in 2000,” says owner Lex Salisbury. “It's about 46 acres and is right at the northern part of the Green Swamp, which is the second largest wilderness area in Florida after the Everglades. We have about 600 animals here.”

If you’ve ever wanted to feed a giraffe, sloth, cheetah, bongo, or lemur… this is the place for you… in addition to all the wildlife you will encounter while on safari.

“All of our tours are guided,” explains Salisbury. “You can do it in your own vehicle… which is going to be a more insular tour that really targets guests who are interested in coming to learn about nature but finances may be an issue… or have a more hands-on tour, which are on our custom vehicles, Segway, or camel back. Those all involve a form of giraffe feeding and they're going to be about an hour and a half.”

This is Dade City adventure is suited for the entire family and can be found between Orlando and Tampa. If you are a household of animal lovers, you may want to visit Giraffe Ranch. Reservations are needed before arrival.
