Do’s of Char Dham Yatra:

Always opt for Packages: Whenever planning for a Char Dham Yatra, you should always look out for yatra packages. This would make your trip a lot more comfortable as everything would be covered, and you would not have to worry about the minute details. Be it accommodation, transfers, trek, etc. You can compare various online packages at different websites and choose what suits you best. We offer you the best Chardham Yatra tours, and you can take a look at them.

Cover your head and remove your shoes: Whenever visiting any char Dham shrine or temple across the country, always make a note to cover your head and remove your shoes before entering it. This is a religious thing that has been practised for a very long time. So, try not to forget these little things.

Pack sufficient and needed clothing: Planning a Char Dham Yatra trip, then packing is something you have to be cautious about. Carry woollen clothing such as warmers, jackets, sweaters, mufflers, etc. This would keep you safe in the challenging cold weather of these high-altitude places. Also don’t forget to carry raincoats, as it can rain anytime in these areas.

Carry your tents: For a safe side, carry your tents, sleeping bags, windcheaters, warm blankets, walking sticks, and sufficient torches with extra batteries. You should also wear body-hugging clothes like track pants, salwar-kameez, shirts, etc., to ensure a comfortable trekking experience.

Carry your snacks: When packing for your Char Dham Yatra, please ensure that you pack enough snacks to help you throughout the challenging treks. Carry your dry snacks such as biscuits, dry fruits, lemon, tinned food packages, milk powder, sweet things, or anything according to your taste buds. Also, carry a water bottle with you on each of your treks.

Walk on the Hill-Side: When you are trekking towards any of the Char Dham Shrine, make sure you trek only on the hillside. Please do not walk on the valley side; it can prove quite dangerous as ponies usually coming from opposite directions can direct contact with you.

Hire Registered Pony: When booking a pony for your trek, make sure you hire a registered pony, wala. Any pony wala, porter, or dandy man you hire should be registered. You can check it there only. This would help as they can not charge you more than the prefixed tariffs.

Walk at a constant speed: Make it a point when you start your challenging treks of Char Dham Shrines that try to trek continuously. Trek in a single motion without getting involved in any competition. These treks are complex and difficult, so try to be as comfortable as possible.

Carry your medicines: It is not advisable for people with any medical history to go for Char Dham Yatra. But still, if you are opting for it, ensure that you are carrying your medical and first aid kits. Carry all your prescribed medicines, bandages, painkillers, etc.

Here are some Don'ts for a safe Char Dham Yatra:

Respect the rules: Most shrines do not allow you to click pictures inside the temples. Ensure that you do not involve in any such activity if it is prohibited. Don’t try to cheat and click images with your cameras.

Prohibited Food items: Any alcohol or non-Veg item is strictly denied in these holy places. Do not try to get involved in any such activity. Always respect the rules.

Do not walk on the valley side: Do not trek on the valley side when trekking. Pony from opposite directions coming can hit you, and it can cause mishappening. Always be careful.

Don’t litter the rivers: On your trekking trails, you will come across many beautiful rivers and waterfalls. Do not try to litter them in any sense. Avoid washing clothes, hands or bathing in these.

Do not litter: Make it a point to ensure a clean environment around you. Do not throw away any wrappers on the roads or in forests. Throw your trash in the dustbins only.

Avoid relaxing in prohibited areas: You will see various signs throughout the trek warning you not to sit there. It is for your safety only. The chances of stone pelting and landslides are always on the greener side here. So be careful.
