Devil's Lake is a state park in Wisconsin. Located just 3 miles south of Baraboo, Wisconsin on S5975 Park Road. It is the biggest state park in Wisconsin and is open every day of the year, from 6 am to 11 pm. Nearly 1.8 million people visit the park each year, making it the busiest in the state park system. There are approximately 30 miles of hiking trail.

Balance Rock Trail is 0.4 miles. CCC Trail is 0.3 miles.Devil's Doorway Trail is 0.1 miles.East Bluff Trail is 1.7 miles.East Bluff Woods Trail and Loop is 3.4 miles.East Bluff Woods Trail is 1.3 miles.Grottos Trail is 0.7 miles.Group Camp Trail is 0.5 miles.Potholes Trail is 0.3 miles.Tumbled Rocks Trail is 1 mile.West Bluff Trail is 1.4 miles.Johnson Moraine Loop Trail is 2.8 miles.Steinke Basin Loop Trail 3.8 miles.Upland Loop Trail 3.8 miles.Parfrey's Glen Trail is 3.8 miles.Ice Age Trail Entire Loop is 13.7 miles.Sauk Point Trail is 4.5 miles.Roznos Meadow Trail is 1.8 miles.

Devil's Lake In Four Seasons:

Winter: During the winter you can take a peaceful walk along the lake or on it (since the water is frozen). Or take a hike, but sometimes the hiking path has frozen ice on it.

Spring: During spring you can hike, camp, or have a picnic. You are surrounded by blooming flowers.

Summer: During the summer, you can hike, swimming in the lake, rock climb or have a picnic. You can also rent a single kayak, double kayak, rowboat, canoe, paddle boards, or paddle pontoons.

Fall: During the fall, you can take a hike, camp, or have a picnic. You are surrounded by colorful leaves.

Entrance Fee:

An annual sticker or daily sticker is your entrance fee. An annual sticker cost $28 for a resident of Wisconsin, while non-residents pay $38. A daily sticker cost $13 for residents and $16 for non-residents.

Boat Rental Fees:

Single Kayak- $15.00 per hour

Double Kayak- $ 24.00 per hour

Rowboat- $ 17.00 per hour Canoe- $17.00 per hour

Paddle Boards- $18.00 per hour Paddle Pontoons- $35.00 per hour

Pet Policy:

Pets are permitted in most campgrounds, trails, roads, and outlying areas of the parks. Pets must be on a leash no longer than 8 feet at all times. You should not leave your pet unattended. Waste should be disposed of in dumpsters or trash receptacles. Pets must be under control at all times. Pets are not allowed in the following areas:

*Buildings

*Picnic areas and picnic shelters

*Beaches

*Playground

*Marked Nature Trails

*Ski trails when they are snow-covered

Fun Facts:

*A railroad line built in the mid-1800s started bringing more visitors to the area.

*Devils Lake State Park was established in 1911.

*Maximum depth of the lake is 47ft.

*The highest point is 500 feet above the lake.

*The name "Devils Lake" is a calque of the Dakota phrase mni wak'áŋ (literally: spirit water). European-American settlers misconstrued this name to mean "Bad Spirit Lake", or "Devils Lake."

* 9,217-acre state park, the lake itself is 360-acres

This state park is a great place for the whole family or just about anyone to spend the time to together, explore nature, and relax. Though out the year the park the activities and surroundings change. Usually, the park is very busy and packed in the summer, while in the winter there are fewer people. There are also many wild animals in the park.
