Would you be happy living in the setting above? I bet it would grow on you. .

You may or may not know that I am in the business of assisting individuals and families who want to acquire their legal status here in Costa Rica. We help also in facilitating their move. . shipping their vehicles, their pets, all of their household furnishings, etc. It brings us great joy to speak with someone who has been in Costa Rica for a few years and confirm that they indeed made the right decision in their moving here. These lucky people, the ones who are satisfied with their new life, all have one big thing in common. . they conformed and committed. They became 'one' with the culture here. They knew how to 'slow down' and get off of that hamster wheel. And it did them well by rewarding them with a quiet life, filled with delight and charm!

We can all agree that 2020 has been a very challenging year. It is almost over, thank God! I will have to admit that it did go quickly. I have never watched so much political news in my life. If I don't see another news program in the next ten years, I will be fine with that. Only documentaries, YouTube videos & family movies for me from this point forward.

The reason I am sharing all of this with you is that in the past two weeks or so, we have been receiving dozens of emails and phone calls from people over the age of 50 who want to move to Costa Rica. A few of them have visited here a long time ago. Some have been reading about this happy country and finally want to consider spending the rest of their lives here. And some are in a frenzy, telling us that if they don't make a change in their lives quickly, their heads will burst. Most of these people are from either the USA or Canada, and many are from the big cities. . New York, Chicago, Portland, Seattle. I assume that it has something to do with the unrest that has permeated our country in the past eight months or so.

One thing that they all ask us is whether or not it is possible to live in an area of Costa Rica that is quiet and where nobody will bother them. That is their number one concern and request. And the good news is that there are many towns in every area of Costa Rica that will suit their needs. I searched long and hard in finding an image that I could attach to this story that I am sharing with you to best visualize what they are looking for. I found the one posted above.

Now, I will admit, just looking at this image, it seems a little TOO QUIET for my taste. However, we can't see further than the bend in the dirt road. If there's a little town less than a five-minute walk away, then that could surely be my house for the next 2o years! I see that volcano in the background, so I'd certainly make sure that it has been dormant for the last 20,000 years or so! Yes, that would be a priority!

A simple life is desired by many. A life perhaps without even owning a car. Low taxes, friendly people, healthy food and views to die for. Check, check, check, check and CHECK!

If you're reading this and would like more information, maybe a list of small towns that are safe, quiet, friendly, etc., email me at [email protected]. I will send you a list for your immediate review. I will also send you links to many of the informational websites that are available to learn more about one of the happiest countries on the planet.

We love to share information about Costa Rica with those who have an interest. And our number one piece of advice is to do this: TAKE YOUR TIME! If, after a few months, you are falling in love with the idea of moving here, step back. Plan a trip. . try to see all of what Costa Rica can offer you. There are over 20 micro-climates here. There are hundreds of small towns. Some are located high in the mountains, some are positioned deep inside a tropical rain forest, some are located right on the beach. It would be a shame to make a quick decision and move to a town that you end up hating after a year when the town 30 miles away would have worked perfectly if only you took the time to gather more information before your move.

Costa Rica is a paradise. It can be anything you want it to be. Keep in mind that it is only a 2 hour, 45 minute direct flight from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale. Many ticos speak English. The dollar can be used most everywhere. Heck, there's even a KFC and a McDonalds within three blocks of my house here in San Jose. There is strong internet, cable TV and many choices available for Cell Phone Service! There are Walmarts here as well! If you don't want to take that "I never want to see anything American again" attitude, but still want to get away from the daily stresses of modern-day life, then Costa Rica might be the answer to your prayers! Check it out and have fun exploring your opportunity for a quiet, enchanted life here in Costa Rica!
