Although 2020 has not been very kind to all of us, setting back almost every plan we had due to the pandemic, which also caused the delay of many attractions and developments. However, about a month ago, Disney confirmed that they will move forward with the Star Wars hotel and that it may open soon. According to a press release from December, the Star Wars hotel will be open sometime in 2021 as it is called Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. A theme luxury hotel built near Disney’s Hollywood Studios, in the Epcot Resort Area of the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. A representative at The Walt Disney Company did not respond to Fox News’ request to comment for a direct answer whether Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will open in 2021.

Now, we have some reports that Disney has made some progress on this highly anticipated Star Wars hotel in Florida. As we can see, there are photos from Twitter user @bioreconstruct that shows the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel has made some progress throughout the pandemic.

On Sunday, @bioreconstruct wrote, “Aerial look at the Porte Cochere of Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser (hotel). One of the recent changes is the walkway at (the) arrow,” which is attached to a photo that as a small yellow arrow denoting the walkway. “None of the building will be visible to the guests. An instant forest and the high walls will be in the sightline.”

The Twitter user also continued with their thread with some alleged shots as they wrote “construction activity” with lunch break tents were set up at the 201 South S Studio Drive site in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Another tweet from @bioreconstructed read, “Unclear what the nearby crates might contain,” with two arrow marks pointing out groups of crates.

“Cabins are in the section at left. Decks of the ship are in the show building at center,” they wrote in another tweet that shows the entire construction site. “Guests will check in and be transported up the ship for 2 days of adventure inside the Star Wars timeline. "

The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be shaped like a Star Wars starship. The rooms will have children’s bunk beds with adult-sized beds in the style of Star Wars bunkers with each room fits up to a family of four. The lobby of the hotel is also in the style of a Star Wars spaceship interior. The hotel will also feature creatures and droids acting as a hotel staff like butlers and the ability to interact with features of the hotel as if the guests are really in the Star Wars universe. Apart from all of the above, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will also include a lightsaber training course. Just like when Obi-Wan Kenobi trained Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, the guests will use their lightsabers to block shots from a training device and other activities to make things as real as it gets.

The guests will have fun with tons of characters on the ship, and many of the guests will be meeting for the first time with a scenario of a dangerous time in the galaxy, with some awareness about who they make allegiances with because who they choose will matter. Their choices will affect how their Star Wars story and experience will unfold.

At the time of publication, the Walt Disney site still states the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is “Coming to Walt Disney World Resort in 2021.” We will just have to wait and see. Knowing Disney, the official announcement will come soon.
