When you travel can you imagine waking up in the mornings and looking out your hotel window to see some of the most beautiful coastlines in the world? If your hotel is not by the coast imagine walking to your destination and suddenly stopping in amazement as you see the lovely scene before you.

Europe

Croatia

The eastern shore of Croatia stretches along the Adriatic Sea. The Dalmatian Coast is considered to be among the loveliest coastlines in Europe. It has a rocky coast and sea caves for exploring. The waters are crystal clear and tourists enjoy coming here for the scenery, the sea, and to swim or snorkel. Zlatni Rat Beach is the most photographed beach in Croatia. It is located in Bol on the southern coast of Brac. This is an unusual landform called a “spit”. It consists of fine pebbles and stretches perpendicular to the coast. The beach is overlooked by Vidova Gora Mountain. Attractions on the beach include water sports with paddle boats, sea kayaks, and banana boat rides. It is also a top windsurfing destination.

Italy

The Amalfi Coast is a stretch of coastline that overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Gulf of Salerno in southern Italy. It has a lovely Mediterranean landscape where mountains seem to plunge into the sea. There are cliffs and there is woodland.

Spain

Spain’s boundaries include both the Mediterranean Sea along the east coast and the Atlantic Ocean on the northwest and southwest sides. Here you’ll find one of the most dramatic and beautiful coastlines on the Mallorca peninsula on the northeast tip. The Cap de Formentor coast offers high cliffs that just out into the sea with unusual rock formations. Pine trees appear to grow straight out of rocks and you can enjoy nesting seabirds.

Portugal

Portugal sits on the western coast of the Iberian Peninsula and a plateau that divides the inland Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean. In the Algarve, one of the loveliest coastlines and most iconic beaches is Praia da Dona Ana. There is a nice sandy beach surrounded by overhanging cliffs. The water is crystal clear and there are unusual rock formations and red and yellow sandstone cliffs. Tourists enjoy sunbathing and swimming.

Africa

The Zanzibar Archipelago consists of two islands – Zanzibar and Pemba. Zanzibar is also known as Unguja and is a major holiday destination due to its lovely beaches. This island has some of the best beaches in the world with varying surf. Visitors delight in soft white sand and clear shallow water. The coastline along the Indian Ocean offers some of the most incredible views. It has crystal clear waters and soft sands unlike anywhere else in the world. From the island of Zanzibar, you can catch some of the most beautiful sunsets.

The Seychelles

The Seychelles Islands are one of the world’s most beautiful tropical destinations. This archipelago nation consists of 115 islets, cays, and coral atolls. They are located in the Indian Ocean about 1,600 kilometers east of Kenya and mainland Africa and have become a popular destination for tourists. There are lovely coastlines and among the most beautiful is the Anse Source d’Argent coastline. The beach is on the island of La Digue and invites tourists with waving coconut palm trees and gigantic boulders. This is one of the most photographed beaches in the world. They come to enjoy the white sands and the waters of the Indian Ocean. Fruit and refreshments are sold from shacks and kayaks are for rent.

Asia

India

India has some of the loveliest coastline stretching along the Malabar Coast. There are sand dunes, amazing beaches, and beautiful lagoons. Tourists enjoy the clear, warm waters and sandy beaches. Among the most visited beaches is Chootad Beach which borders with a river on one side and the sea on the other. Tourists enjoy the beach park and there are facilities for pedal boats and speed boats.

Australia

Australia has the most incredible coastline known as the Great Ocean Road in southern Australia. There are amazing seaside cliffs that the road stretches along making its way along the Southern Ocean. You can see craggy cliffs, beaches, and bluffs. The Great Ocean Road begins in the city of Torquay. Along the coastline here among the popular things to see are the sea stacks known as the Twelve Apostles.

North America

Canada

New Brunswick is one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. It is also one of the three Maritime Provinces and one of the four Atlantic Provinces. The province offers tourists the amazing Hopewell Rocks which look different at high and low tides. At high tide these rocks resemble islands with trees upon them and at low tide they appear to be giant sea stacks that rise above a rock beach. They stand by the Atlantic Ocean and you can descend stairs to the ocean floor and walk among them. There are interpretive signs and a visitor center provides displays about the formatting of these sculpted cliffs and pillars. People enjoy kayaking among them at high tide.

The US

California

Big Sur offers a lovely coastline that includes a rugged, rocky shoreline, amazing waterfalls, sea stacks, and stretches of beaches. This scenic stretch of coastline is in central California where the Santa Lucia Mountains meet up with the Pacific Ocean.
