Cher Reeder: A Realtor Taking Destin, 30A & Beyond By Storm

What makes a great Realtor? Off the top of my head, I automatically think of a few things: knowledgeable passion for their local area, loving your job and knowing how to play the other side like a fiddle at the negotiation table. This trifecta truly does breed success, as without being a local expert one can't know proper pricing, without a love for their work one won't keep on the cutting edge of the market and if you're not a master negotiator, you're going to get taken advantage of. Enter Cher Reeder.

From our time with Cher Reeder, we learned a lot about a lot. For starters, the history of Northwest Florida, specifically Destin, 30A & Panama City, is a passionate subject for this award winning, top-rated Realtor. That's a family trait with her, as her husband comes from one of the oldest families to have settled in Panama City. Spending time with them, you immediately get the impression that there's no place in the world they'd rather be living. We sympathize; in our minds, there is no better place on God's Green Earth than Florida's Emerald Coast, but it's always nice to meet someone who is as passionate about this area as we are.

A recent graduate of Yale School of Management's Executive Education in Strategic Negotiations, Cher's hobbies are a bit beyond what we like to do. While I might be sitting on the beach, catching rays between meals, Cher is a real estate powerhouse, constantly researching new ways to serve her clients. From building relationships with local investors and developers to studying the psychology behind the art of negotiation to staying on the cutting edge of an ever changing market, to say Cher is passionate about real estate would be as big of an understatement as "Grayton Beach is kind of nice, sort of."

As one of the top performing agents for her Brokerage Robert Slack LLC (which is a fairly impressive feat as they are the #1 Team-Owned Brokerage operating in Florida with over 600 agents under their banner), Cher was recently featured in an episode of CNBC's The American Dream, a television show about real estate all across the country. There she gave a tour of a gorgeous local condo in popular resort community Sandestin that she had for sale before jetting off by boat to explore the seas of the Emerald Coast (while grabbing a bite to eat of course). When it comes to her love of the local area, one has to just take a peak into her YouTube account to see how much she's smitten. She regularly chronicles her visits to various local eateries, giving viewers a sneak peak into some of the best that Walton & Bay counties have to offer. Currently, she has been chronicling the "Emerald Coast Italian Food Wars", where she goes to the best that Walton & Bay counties has to offer when it comes to pasta and pizza. As you can tell, Cher is someone who likes to have fun.

Beyond that, her website, BuyDestin30A.com, goes into great detail about the various communities and neighborhoods of the Emerald Coast. Especially in the 30A area, the communities are small but incredibly distinct, so having them meticulously broken down really gives a lot of insight into the area. For anyone curious about the differences in the many cities and towns throughout Northwest Florida, there is tons of useful information there to educate and entertain.

Cher's passion for real estate spawns from her overall love of helping others. There's few gifts on par with homeownership, and Cher understands the responsibility of her position in that transaction. Having worked in various elements of real estate throughout her career, becoming a Realtor was an easy choice to make. While real estate agents of course fly their signs with a real estate brokerage, in many ways, they are their own bosses, as they do run their own businesses. "That's the advantage to being a Realtor; instead of having to focus on company goals, or division goals, I can focus on my client's goals." With a mentality like that, it's no wonder she's a five star Realtor.
