As a National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) exchange student, I've had the opportunity to go about Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. Around Kaohsiung, there are many wonderful locations to visit.

Kaohsiung Central Park - Playground

Every corner of their street had a park, as I noticed. Because of its distinctive qualities, Central Park was one of the parks that caught my attention and impressed me. Central Park is located at 801 Kaohsiung City, Qianjin District. This park is located near the (R9) KMRT Central Park Station in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, at the intersection of Zhongshan Rd and Wufu Rd.

As you wander through the recreation center's riverbanks, you'll notice a number of elders inertly tasting tea or playing chess at the Speech Square as the brisk speed of life unfolds around them. Kaohsiung Central Park creates a beautiful image in the city, with children running around uninhibitedly, giggling, elderly people sipping tea in silence, couples walking hand-in-hand, and people relaxing peacefully along the riverbanks. The relaxed atmosphere of the recreation center is a stark contrast to the frenetic metropolitan life it entails.

The garden with its lovely flowers is fantastic. It is, without a doubt, an Instagram-worthy scene.

The park's attractiveness is enhanced by the various colors of the flowers. In the park, there are also performers. Some people are singing, others are dancing, while others are playing instruments. A number of families are out strolling, people are having picnics, pet owners are walking their dogs, and people are jogging. The scenery is beautifully presented and carefully cared for, despite the park's small size. The design is stunning and well worth a look. In 10 minutes, you could probably walk across the park in any direction.

If you're a Filipino or someone who enjoys "ukay-ukay" as much as I do, this spot near the NET building is ideal. This is one of my favorite areas in the city. Aside from the breathtaking scenery, there is a street (Rende St.) in the core area where you may buy a variety of items. One of the reasons I frequent this location is because of the numerous reasonable things or bargains. Believe me when I say that the clothes, shoes, jeans, coats, and other accessories are quite inexpensive. The cheapest item costs roughly 20NTD (40 pesos); nonetheless, all things are branded. I recall purchasing a pair of high heel shoes for only 50 NTD. If you like "ukay-ukay," the central region is the finest place to go.

I visited and dined in the following locations around Central Park.

Rosary Cathedral Minor Basilica

There is a church 0.2 km from Central Park Kaohsiung if you want to pray. The address for this church is No.151, Wufu 3rd Rd., Qianjin Dist, Qianjin, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. An English and a Chinese Mass are held at this church. I did not pray in this church during my stay in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan; instead, I prayed in St. Mary's Church at Yancheng District , which is close to my dorm. There are English and Chinese masses held in this church.

McDonald's

McDonald's Yuzhu 3rd St. Kaohsiung City, Taiwan

McDonald's is a good place to dine if you're hungry. On Yuzhu 3rd Street, there is a quick food establishment. I'm surprised that McDonald's and KFC in Taiwan does not serve rice, whereas McDonald's and KFC in my country does. I'm also impressed that you'll eat at one of their restaurants. You are responsible for cleaning your table and disposing of trash in the allocated bin. Amazing.
