Spring is the farewell to freezing cold and a season to thaw life back to its blooming glory. On an academic calendar, spring means a break for ten whole days (weekends included) which translates into an excuse for partying before the last sessions of classes and exams could continue for next academic year. It is a time to relax, unwind, and get ready for the next round of grueling tests and term papers so planning a getaway makes all the sense in the world.

As much as a ‘rite of passage’, college trips during spring break defines an important milestone towards the path of adulthood. Some deeming it the ‘last chance for fun’ want to try all the most thrilling and adventurous destinations. One of the key factors comes down to budget, and deciding where to go becomes much more than a whimsical choice, with logistical costs and still some extra money to pay for the parties one wants to attend (or throw).

Considering all these factors, following are some of the budget-friendly yet maximum fun and frolic destinations for students looking for cool options to choose from for their spring break trip.

1. Daytona Beach, Florida

Orlando, just fifty miles from Daytona Beach might seem a rather perfect destination in comparison if you are interested in Universal, SeaWorld, and Disney, but Florida beats it all with its “Fun Coast”. Daytona Beach offers an exciting variety of motorsports and a Road Course, because of its hard-packed sand where you can enjoy driving. Free red double-decker buses take spring breakers to the beach and even if you miss one, most of the tourist spots are within walking distance. With twenty waterfront parks and adventurous rides and games, Daytona Beach could be the ultimate spring break trip destinations.

2. Nassau, Bahamas

When thinking of Bahamas, you cannot help but imagine languorously lounging at the beach with a drink in hand and not a care in the world. That is perfectly what is required by spring breakers and exactly what Nassau offers in return. It can provide with both extremes of having quiet, serene surroundings for the ones who want to unwind and relax during their break, while also cater to all-night long beach parties for the ones who just want to drink and dance it all away. There are a lot of other activities spring breakers can enjoy in the Bahamas like local food festivals, dancing contests, open bars at most events, casinos, and most importantly, snorkeling!

3. Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Known as ‘Eights Rivers’ in Spanish, Ochos Rios used to be an average fishing village and referred to ‘Ochi’ by the locals. For college students, this is the ultimate budget destination for spring break since the rich culture, history, and natural beauty Ocho Rios offers is unbeatable. Christopher Columbus is claimed to have stepped on this land when he discovered Americas, and so there is a Columbus Park nearby to stroll in and absorb historical monuments and moments. The beach parties in Jamaica are famous for their never-ending streak and international attendance, cruising around the world to find best parties to attend.

4. San Juan, Peurto Rico

Another budget-friendly destination is San Juan in Peurto Rico since many spring break cruises choose this beautiful coast as their final stop-over. It has a historically rich ambience with ancient forts to visit and five beautiful beaches to choose from for partying and enjoying the ethereal sunsets. So with amazing nightlife, great food, thrilling water sports, and museums, you have enough reasons to visit San Juan.

5. South Padre Island, Texas

The ultimate water sport haven is South Padre Island, Texas and known as the ‘New York of the South’ it invites more than a hundred thousand spring breakers every March to July for the last thirty years. This narrow barrier island offers loads of sunshine, dolphins to watch, water sports, and even horseback riding on the beach, because after all, it is Texas. Now who would not want to spend their evenings look into a calming sunset with the music overtaking as the night grows young?
