If you're looking for a great vacation destination in the Mountain West, then you're going to love today's article. We're going to share with you some of the best vacation destinations that you'll find spread throughout these seven states. The mountains states include Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, and New Mexico.

Cedar City, Utah

This large city is nested about 250 miles south of the well-known Salt Lake City. It's home to some of the most breathtaking parks in the northern hemisphere. Some parks that you must take the time to visit include Cedar Breaks National Monument, Cascade Falls, and Dixie National Forest. While you're enjoying the landscape, you'll also want to check out the Frontier Homestead State Park Museum and the Adams Shakespearean Theatre for some historical entertainment. There are many Cedar City hotels that are within walking distance to some great historical sites and local restaurants that you'll be sure to enjoy.

Grand Canyon, Arizona

You can't take a trip to the Mountain West without stopping by the world famous Grand Canyon. This mile-long carved chasm is truly a sight that you'll just have to see to believe. With guided tours down into the canyon, you can enjoy seeing all the layered bands of red rock revealing millions upon millions of years of geological history. If you're not into riding the whole way to the bottom, you can get many great views from various observation stations and lookouts situated around the park.

Aspen, Colorado

If you love being in the snow, then Aspen is a must-stop vacation destination in the Mountain West. The rocky mountains provide a picture perfect view while enjoying year-round recreation at this ski resort town. There's the obvious recreation of skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. There's also much history that can be discovered in this Colorado town. The Wheeler-Stallard House provides queen Anne-style decor. The Aspen Art Museum and the Wheeler Opera House will be great stops to enjoy some creative entertainment in the evenings.

Glacier National Park, Montana

Montana has a very vast landscape ranging from great plains to the rocky mountains. Glacier National Park is a great place to enjoy diversity with over 700 miles of trails to discover. You can enjoy an eventful hike that showcases the beautiful rocky mountains and the abundant wildlife that is present inside this natural park reserve. A quick trip by the visitors center will reveal all the activities that can be enjoyed in the park. Some include camping, hiking, boating, fishing, and birdwatching.

Las Vegas, Nevada

You simply can't take a trip to the Mountain West without hitting up Las Vegas at least once. While you don't need to gamble to have fun, it's definitely something that you can find yourself enjoying. There are many luxury hotels that boast all kinds of events, lighting, clubs, and resorts. If you find yourself too consumed by the city vibe, you can always enjoy a peaceful day at the Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument. Apart from enjoying a nice hike, you can bask in the adventure of finding fossils from the Ice Age.

Santa Fe, New Mexico

If you're really into art and architecture, then Santa Fe is the town for you. The city boasts its beautiful Pueblo-style architecture that will please your eyes. This town is all about creativity and the love of art. You can enjoy stopping by some of the most popular landmarks. These include the Palace of the Governors, San Miguel Chapel, and Bandelier National Monument. Some great art centers to check out include the Museum of International Folk Art, the George O-Keeffe Museum, and the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture.
