Antigua and Barbuda

Antigua and Barbuda is an independent Commonwealth country that consists of two namesake islands. It is located where the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea meet. It is known for its reef-lined beaches, rainforests, and resorts. Its capital is St. John's.

Devil's Bridge

Along Antigua's rugged northeast coast you'll see the awesome scenery of Indian Town National Park featuring the natural limestone Devil's Bridge that has been sculpted over the centuries by the crashing and pounding surf. The park offers great hiking and birding, Over 36 avian species call it home and live in the acacia trees.

Frigate Bird Sanctuary

Frigate Bird Sanctuary in Barbuda is a haven for birders. Access is only by boat and the sanctuary lies in the northwest lagoon. It has the largest nesting colonies of frigate birds in the Caribbean.

Barbados

Barbados is an eastern Caribbean island and an independent British Commonwealth nation. Its capital, Bridgetown is a cruise ship port.

Bathsheba Bay

Bathsheba Bay lies along the rugged Atlantic coast and is popular with surfers. It is dotted with rock formations once created by ancient coral reefs. The road descends from a high plateau down to the ocean and runs along the waterfront. You can see the remains of a staircase. Farther on you'll come to a restaurant and vendors selling goods.

Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia is an eastern Caribbean island nation. It is beautiful with tapered mountains, the Pitons, on the west coast. There are fishing villages, volcanic beaches, reef-diving sites, and luxury resorts, The capital Castries, is a well-known cruise port.

The Pitons

The Pitons were created less than a million years ago by volcanic activity. They are this island’s most iconic mountains and one of the most photographed sites in the Caribbean. They're located just south of the town of Soufriere.

Dominica

Dominica is a mountainous Caribbean island nation. It has natural hot springs and tropical rainforests. Its capital, Roseau is lovely with colorful timber houses and botanical gardens.

Boiling Lake

Boiling Lake is a unique attraction and is the second-largest of its kind in the world. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park. You can reach the lake hiking a 7-mile trail for 3 hours each way. It takes you through a rainforest. You can see the steaming water bubble to the surface.

Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is a Caribbean island and unincorporated U.S. territory. It is a lovely island with mountains, waterfalls and the El Yunque tropical rainforest. Its capital San Juan is the largest city.

Los Morrilos Lighthouse

Los Morrilos Light is a historic lighthouse. It was built to help guide ships through the southeast entrance from the Caribbean Sea through the treacherous Mona Passage into the Atlantic Ocean. The lighthouse sits on a white lime cliff that is surrounded by saltwater lagoons and marshes.

Virgin Gordo

Virgin Gorda a Caribbean Island is part of the British Virgin Islands. It is known for the Baths. a labyrinth of beachside boulders. There are white sand beaches and mountains on the north side where trails lead up Gorda Peak with fantastic views all around.

The Baths

The Baths is a unique beach with giant boulders with amazing grottos between them. It is located on Virgin Gorda the third largest island in this group of islands. The beach is a BVI National Park and a major tourist attraction.

St. Kitts

St. Kitts is the largest of the two Caribbean islands comprising the nation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. There are mountains with rainforests and beaches with white, grey, and black sands, The capital Basseterre is on the southwestern coast with Georgian buildings from the colonial era, Basseterre has a plaza the Circus that has been modeled after Piccadilly Circus in London, England with a Victorian-style clock tower.

Brimstone Hill Fortress

Brimstone Hill Fortress is a UNESCO World Heritage site that was built by the British. The fort is made of black volcanic rock and sits atop a steep hill with great views of the sea.

Jamaica

Jamaica, a Caribbean island nation, has a mix of mountains, rainforests and reef-lined beaches. Its resorts are all mostly in Montego Bay. Jamaica is known as the birthplace of reggae music and you'll find the Bob Marley Museum in the capital, Kingston.

Dunn's River Falls

Dunn’s River Falls is considered to be one of the most exciting natural landmarks in this country. The waterfall is approx. 55 meters tall and 180 meters in length. This is not just a falls but a set of tufa limestone terraces that have been formed by springs over which the water flows right into the Caribbean Sea.

Saba

Saba is a Caribbean island in the Lesser Antilles chain. It is a special municipality of the Netherlands, There are offshore seamounts or underwater mountains that have been created by volcanic activity.

Mount Scenery

Mount Scenery is the highest point in the Dutch Kingdom and is its dominant feature. The upper slopes and summit are covered by dense vegetation. At the top of the mountain, you'll find The Elfin Forest or Cloud Forest which is usually enshrouded by clouds.

Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe is a French overseas region and an island group in the southern Caribbean Sea, The island resembles a butterfly and its two largest islands are separated by the Salee River. Hilly Grande-Terre has lovely long beaches and fields of sugarcane while Basse-Terre Island, Parc National de la Guadeloupe encompasses Carbet Falls and the volcanic Le Grande Soufriere. There are two smaller islands as well Marie-Galante and La Desirade.

Carbet Falls

Carbet Falls is a wonderful waterfall located in the lush rainforest on the slopes of the Soufriere volcano and is considered to be the most spectacular waterfall in the eastern Caribbean. Near the base are some hot springs. This is one of the island’s most popular tourist attractions.

Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman is the largest of the Cayman Islands and is a British Overseas Territory. Its capital is George Town and is a major cruise ship port.

Stingray City

Stingray City is the most popular tourist attraction with an impressive population of stingrays. Visitors can swim with them in the clear, shallow waters. There are lovely coral reefs with schools of tropical fish. It is great for snorkeling.

Martinique

Martinique is a rugged Caribbean island and part of the Lesser Antilles. It is an overseas region of France and is a blend of French and West Indian influences. Its capital and largest city is Fort-de-France.

Diamond Rock

Diamond Rock is located 3 kilometers off the southern coast and is a refuge for sea birds. Today it is a habitat for the last specimens on earth of Lecepede's ground snake. Even though it is forbidden to access the rock you can view it from the lookout at the foot of Larcher Hill or from a boat. The surrounding water is fantastic for diving.

Curacao

Curacao is a Dutch Caribbean island that is known for its beaches and coral reefs. The capital is Willemstad with pastel-colored houses.

Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge

Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge is a pontoon bridge that spans across St. Anna Bay. It connects the Punda and Otrobanda quarters of the capital city of Willemstad. The bridge swings open.

Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is a Caribbean nation sharing the island of Hispaniola with Haiti to the west. It is known for its beaches, resorts, and golf. There is spectacular rainforest, savannah and highlands. You can see Spanish landmarks in the capital city of Santo Domingo.

The Catedral Primada de America

The Catedral Primada de America is located in the city of Santo Domingo de Guzman. It is dedicated to St. Mary of the Incarnation, It is the oldest cathedral in the Americas and a treasury containing retablos, paintings, old woodwork, furniture, sculptures and tombstones.

Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago is a dual-island Caribbean nation near Venezuela. Its capital is Port of Spain. The smaller island of Tobago is known for its beaches.

Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust

Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust might be located in the middle of an oil refinery but it is one of the best bird-watching spots in Trinidad. The sanctuary is surrounded by lush tropical foliage and has nature trails along lily-topped lakes.

You can see birds such as the scarlet ibis, black-bellied whistling duck, and white-cheeked pintail.

The Main Ridge Forest Reserve

The Main Ridge Forest Reserve in Tobago is the oldest legally protected forest in the Western Hemisphere. The reserve harbors over half the island's bird species among them the blue-backed manakin, collared trogon, and many species of hummingbirds - the rare white-tailed sabrewing hummingbird also makes its home here.

Hiking through the lush foliage you can see frogs, lizards, snakes, and butterflies. The road through the reserve goes from north to south near the eastern end of Tobago and is one of the best scenic ways to see the forest. At the top of the ridge are hiking trails and freelance guides.
