1. Sizihwan Beach

Sizihwan Bay is one of the most famous picturesque spots and for water activities in Kaohsiung City, and it is located right inside the campus. With the beautiful sunset attracting students and tourists from all over the world.

You will appreciate here the breezy condition. The sea shore has fine dark sand. This sea shore isn't proposed for swimming. Many individuals are visiting the spot, particularly toward the evening.

On the beach, you can likewise observe the Sunset Beach Resort. This resort is situated at No. 51 Lianhai Road, Gushan, 80441 Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Sunset Beach Resort provides accommodation with a private beach area and as well as free private parking for guests who drive.

As mentioned above, the Sizihwan beach is not intended for swimming. If you want to go to the secret beach, these are the things you need to consider:

Option 1.

If you have a car and you don't like to enter the school premises, that's alright. All you have to do is to go directly to the secret beach.

Note: It's not easy to locate the beach as it is hidden.

Using Lianhai Road, you can reach the place. When you reach outside the College of Liberal Arts, you can look for a place to park your car.

Option 2.

If you have a car, motorbike, or perhaps walk and will enter the school premises, you have to find the Department of Marine Environment and Engineering. You can see a guardhouse, and yet before arriving at the guardhouse, you can see, another street on your left side, below the bridge. Go there straight, you can see the Building of Marine Environment and Engineering and the General Building. Keep driving or strolling until you arrive at the College of Marine Sciences building. On your left side, you can see another street, take that route. Toward the stopping point, you have to stop there and search for a spot to leave your vehicle or motorbike. You can see a basketball court. Besides that court, there is a little rear entryway simply, keep walking. At the end of that alley, you can see open drainage. Go down to the unrestricted drainage. Then start walking until you reach the end of that drainage. Then that's the the entrance to the secret beach.

4. Entrance Gate

This is the entrance gate of the National Sun Yat-sen University. I love the place because of its structure. The building is near the beautiful Hsitzu Bay where is the best place to relax with. On this place, you can see a lot of people walking and fishing. This place also is certainly near to the passage of the ships coming in and out of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. Moreover, the place is near of Cijin Island.

The sports field area was reclaimed from the sea and the facilities include track, field stadium, volleyball courts, basketball courts, softball field, skating rink, and swimming pool. The sports field is near the sea.

6. Swimming Pool

The Swimming Pool of the National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU)

I swim here once. The swimming pool is clean. What's more interesting is that the location of the place, beside the sea. I only pay NT$ (TWD) 15, because I am a student at this university. As far as I know, if you are an outsider, you can use the pool, but you have to pay NT$ (TWD) 30.

The staff is strict with the swimming wear inside the pool. They won't permit you to enter except if you wear the fitting swimming clothing. You can see one (1) or two (2) lifeguard on the job.

Note: Priority in the use of the swimming pool goes to classes, events and athletic training. This facility is open Monday to Sunday (this schedule varies depending on the schedule of the pool).

7. International Building (Language Center)

During the 21st Singing Contest of Chinese and Taiwanese for the international student, I was able to visit this place. The building is for International students who are taking the mandarin class. Since I am only a visiting student, and this is not included in my program, I was not given the chance to attend mandarin class. At any rate, I am learning a couple of mandarin words by perusing and watching recordings just as asking to my Taiwanese companion how to state this word or that word.

8. NSYSU Tunnel (Sizihwan Tunnel)

Tunnel and Gate to campus will be closed from 24:00 to 05:00. The tunnel was built in 1933 and utilized as a reinforced hideout during the war. As of now, it is an advantageous pathway by walking and bike from grounds to downtown.

During my stay on the campus, I was able to witness a lot of activities inside the tunnel. This place is not only a pathway. There are a lot of rooms behind the walls of the tunnel where they conduct exhibit.
