Choosing well her walking companion, setting a practical pace with time to draw, and drinking in the revitalizing countryside,

Marcia rediscovered her physical strength--and more. From the depths of her soul rose her true nature as the Pilgrim's Way nurtured it and let it shine forth.Marcia's can-do. let's-have-fun spirit transports the easy-chair traveler--and will send many a reader on the same journey of the body and soul.

3. The Camino - A Journey Of The Spirit by Shirley McClaine

This is the story of a journey. It is the eagerly anticipated and altogether startling culmination of Shirley MacLaine's extraordinary -- and ultimately rewarding -- road through life.

The riveting odyssey began with a pair of anonymous handwritten letters imploring Shirley to make a difficult pilgrimage along the Santiago de Compostela Camino in Spain. Throughout history, countless illustrious pilgrims from all over Europe have taken up the trail. It is an ancient -- and allegedly enchanted -- pilgrimage.

People from St. Francis of Assisi and Charlemagne to Ferdinand and Isabella to Dante and Chaucer have taken the journey, which comprises a nearly 500-mile trek across highways, mountains and valleys, cities and towns, and fields. Now it would be Shirley's turn.

4. Buen Camino by Natasha & Peter Murtagh

If you’ve ever wondered what a hike of 900 miles involves, physically and emotionally, look no further than Buen Camino! You will be transported to Northern Spain, to bull-running and fiestas, to prayers and ancient Christian churches, to a gruelling trek that leads to a spiritual transformation.

You’ll meet a motley crew of Camino pilgrims, stay with Peter and Natasha in Spartan hostels, learn about the history of the Camino and, above all, laugh and cry with a loving father and daughter as they walk steps trod by thousands of religious travellers before them.

5. Travels With My Donkey - One Man And His Ass On The Camino De Santiago by Tim Moore

Having no knowledge of Spanish and even less about the care and feeding of donkeys, Tim Moore, Britain's indefatigable traveling Everyman, sets out on a pilgrimage to the cathedral at Santiago de Compostela with a donkey named Shinto as his companion. Armed only with a twelfth-century handbook to the route and expert advice on donkey management from Robert Louis Stevenson, Moore and his four-legged companion travel the ancient five-hundred-mile route from St. Jean Pied-de-Port, on the French side of the Pyrenees, to the cathedral at Santiago de Compostela which houses the remains of Spain's patron saint, St. James.

6. Boots To Bliss - Claude Tranchant

Follow the incredible journey and transformation of a 64 years old woman who walked nearly 2500 kilometres alone for 100 days through France and Spain along The Way of Saint James. You will discover the towns, the villages and countryside she went through and the unbelievable encounters she had with people. You will learn about her inner thoughts, her self-discovery, her internal growth and how she was empowered. This is a story of immense courage and resilience
