It is a five-hour drive from Gangtok which leads you to a small village Lachung. Lachung is popular and known for monasteries, Orchards and gorgeous mountain views. Make this village your base and explore the vicinity like - Gurudongmar Lake, the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary, yak safari by Tsomgo Lake, trek up to NathuLa Pass and remote villages of the town.

Ladakh: The land for adventure, romance & Buddhism

Lovingly referred to as the “Little Tibet”, Ladakh is no more the secret destination of India, but earlier it was kept as a secret hidden amidst barren land and mountains in Nothr India. The lakes of Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri are defrosting at this time to give way to turquoise waters. A place of high altitude it is one of the most ravishing destinations to visit in India in summer. This cold dessert makes the perfect picture holiday destination.

There is a grand celebration that occurs in the month of may in Thrissur – Kerela. It Is a celebration not to miss in India during the summers. Caparisoned elephants and vibrant parasols are the charms of the Thrissur Pooram festival.

Tadoba Maharashtra

A less known – less travelled – less explored destination in Maharashtra is Tadoba. Known for Andhari Tiger Reserve, if you are lucky you get to spot one giant cat. You can also spot other wild animals in the park-like – barking deer, wild boars, sambars and more. It is closed during rains so inquire and then plan.

Shillong, Meghalaya

Shillong derives its name from U-Shyllong, the worshipped deity. This stunning place is bounded by East Khasi Hills, which makes it an ideal destination and retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. For all the Bob Dylan fans this is the time to pay your tribute to the legend - with a beautiful waterside celebration every year on 24 May. The wildflowers are in bloom and you will be lucky to visit the sacred forest of Mawphlang.

Landour Uttarakhand

A quaint town near Dehradun and Mussorie is Landour. Start your mornings with an amazing bun-omelette breakfast and head to Lal Tibba or you may just take a stroll to the lanes decked with the old houses, and wooden architecture till the upper Chukker where Ruskin Bond lives. (He won’t meet you, but if you wish to see him you may visit the Cambridge shop at the Mall road).
