Some of the romantic hot spots mentioned in this article, I have had the pleasure of visiting myself and enjoying the sights and feelings that go along with each spot.

Here are some of the best love spots for you to enjoy if you should decide to take a trip with that special someone to beautiful Jamaica.

Visit the Famous Lovers Leap

I was 22 years old when I took my trip to Lovers Leap in Santa Cruz, Jamaica. As I looked down at the rough hill-drop of 1,700 ft. below, I thought to myself that it was sheer suicide jumping from such a height and that’s what it was - suicide. Jamaican history since 1800 has it saying that two slaves known as Mizzy and Tunkey were madly in love with each other. Their master’s name was “Chardley”. Both lovers ran away after they learned of Chardley’s plan to sell Tunkey so that he could get Mizzy to be his mistress. Chardley’s men chased after and cornered the determined couple at the top of the high cliff. Instead of surrendering and facing separation, both lovers chose to jump to their deaths. Although the spot has a tragic end, still it has a strong Jamaican folklore history. The view from this scenic spot is spectacular and one can stand and see much below from this vantage point. Over the years, couples from all over the world visit Lovers Leap to get a bird’s eye view of the beautiful scenery below and who knows, maybe to even get a feeling of the close bond Mizzy and Tunkey felt as they ended their lives.

Visit Dunn’s River Falls

Dunn’s River Falls hold for me some dear memories. My first visit to this much talked about spot by locals and tourists was with a group of enthusiastic Jamaicans. The beach scenery is superb with lush looking sand and inviting waves to capture the hearts of any seashore lover. Like everyone going up the falls, I started my ascent from the bottom straight to the top. On my way up, I could see gleeful couples holding hands and chatting excitedly as they headed in the same direction I was going. The atmosphere was one of excitement and if you should need a helping hand on your way up or down the falls, whether it is from a friend or stranger, someone is always there to assist you. Everyone is everyone’s friend ascending or descending the falls and there is no competition or animosity present among the climbers.

Eat Ice Cream at Devon House

Over the years, Devon House ice cream has become a favorite of mine. Its taste is somewhat different from other ice creams made or sold in Jamaica and this is why I still enjoy it so much. Not only do they sell ice cream on the premises, but also you can dine at the tasty restaurant located nearby or enjoy mouthwatering pastries sold at the pastry shop housing the ice cream parlor. In addition, you can tour the premises hand in hand with the one you love, sit under one of the little huts provided or just take a seat on a bench and stare into the eyes of your lover. Furthermore, you can watch from the little bridge provided and see exotic fish swimming in the small lake on the compound. Devon House is in a picturesque setting where you will feel relaxed and peaceful. If you should decide to pay a visit with your lover to this alluring location, remember to take along your camera, as you will have plenty pictures to take.

Go Rafting on Martha Brae River

Rafting on the Martha Brae River will provide you an experience you will never forget. The bamboo rafts are made to hold two people and you will be steered downriver by an expert rafter. As you sit on the moving raft, you will see some of the lush tropical paradise that Jamaica has to offer its visitors. You will also experience the relaxing sounds made by the animal kingdom that are bustling about on land. You will see different exotic birds on land or in midflight as well. Look down into the water and you will see schools of fish swimming. Relax and enjoy the flow as you raft down Martha Brae River with the one you love at your side.

Go to Negril Beach

Every year, tourists flock and head to Negril Beach in Ocho Rios to take in the sunshine, enjoy the sand and dip into the cool salt seawater found there. There is also a nude section on the beach property provided for those who want to show off their assets. The benefits of being at the beach are many for you and your partner. Some benefits include getting your skin exfoliate by the sand, having cuts on your body heal because of the saltwater coming into contact with your skin, as well as stored up toxins will release from your body. The clean air blowing in from the sea will help you and your love one to relax and boost your moods as well.

Hold Hands at Emancipation Park

Emancipation Park, which is a tribute to freedom, is a dream comes true for lovers living in Jamaica or those persons who are visiting our little island paradise to visit. My first visit to this ideal Jamaican location actually wowed me. The lawn on the property is immaculately kept and there are seats to sit on side by side while holding hands and chatting or viewing the picturesque surroundings. If you prefer, you can tour the property hand in hand with that special love-person of your choice and learn about the rich history the park has to offer as you move from one location to the next. There are many eating places close by Emancipation Park as well in case you get hungry. These food places have some of the most appetizing dishes for you to wet your taste bud in. Such food places include The Oasis, The Escape, Sweetwood Jerk Joint, Tao Restaurant and the country’s famed patty bakers known as Tastee Patties, which is one of my favorite foods. For accommodation, you can stay at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, Spanish Court Hotel, Hotel Four Seasons, Altamont Court Hotel, Terra Nova All Suite Hotel and the Courtleigh Hotel and Suites.

Visit Mayfield Falls in Westmoreland

On any day of the week, lovers can be found visiting the famous Mayfield Falls and Mineral Springs located Westmoreland, Jamaica. My first visit to the falls left me wanting to return for more. The property cascades two beautiful waterfalls and 21 of the most awesome looking natural pools for bathers to frolic and enjoy themselves in as they allow the cool healing waters to run over their body. In addition there are exotic flowers to smell and other interesting rainforest plant life to see as well as learn about. Various butterfly species fly around on the property and riverside gazebos are stationed at strategic points for you and your special companion to make pit stops and refresh yourselves.

Jamaica is filled with various love spots to take that special someone to. Your time spent in this awesome island paradise will give you plenty memories to cherish for many years to come.
