Everyone needs a vacation every now and then when they've been working too hard at school, work, etc., so here is a list of five places everyone needs to visit while traveling/on vacation.

Istanbul, Turkey

Movie - Istanbul (1957)

Istanbul, Turkey, or the Republic of Turkey, is a land of wonders with rich history. With Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque being one of the symbols of the city with 14.8 million residents, the tourist sites also attract outsiders. The two continents the city (and country) sits on are Europe and Asia, considering the land of Turkey to be Asia Minor, and/or EurAsia. As a republic country, the form of government the people of Turkey subscribe to is parliamentary democracy. Geographically, Turkey is also surrounded on three sides by the Aegean, Mediterranean, and black seas. Turkey is also said to be one of the most earthquake prone locations on earth, having to go through 13 earthquakes in just the past 70-80 years. The largest mountain in Turkey is Mt. Ararat. The Turkish people also come from several backgrounds as well as Turkey is home to one of the biggest melting pots, ranging from European to Middle Eastern to Central Asian ethnicities. The majority of Turks also live in cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, etc. As an Islamic country, the Turks are also one of the more secular in nature. Though still religious and aware of their religious backgrounds, Turkish people happen to be very open minded. Turkey truly is a remarkably fascinating art on the earth. There are several tourist locations within the country, not only in Istanbul but throughout the country such as the Pools of Pamukkale, or the city of Troy and such.

Australia

Movie - Australia (2008)

Australia, or the Commonwealth of Australia, subscribing to a federal parliamentary, is a large landmass that stands out unique due to the known fact that it borders no other country. The common language being English, Australia is also home to several groups of people, ranging from the Aborigines to the Europeans, and throughout the years, many other foreigners have also come in and made Australia their home—primarily those from Asia, such as China and Japan, and people from Middle Eastern nations. Australia is also known to be one of the largest countries on earth, rich in natural resources with lots of fertile land. Australia can also be noted as a fairly dry and hot place to live in with harsh conditions during the summer, even hotter than California, but the warm and spaciousness of the country has given the Australian people the opportunity to admire the beauty of the outdoors. Culturally speaking, the Australians are also fond of sports such as surfing, soccer, rugby, etc. According to National Geographic, Australia is among the world’s fourth largest gold producer, also making it an export nation of wheat, fruit and wool.

Russia

Movie - From Russia with Love (1963)

The Russian Federation, with the capital of Moscow and a population of 144.3 million, Russia is admittedly the largest country, in size, on earth. Just like Australia, Russia is also seemingly mostly spacious due to harsh weather conditions and it being cold all the time. Also like Turkey, Russia spans on two continents—Europe and Asia. The Russian landscape is also diverse in certain parts, with deserts and some colder areas. Ethnically, the Russians are a diverse group of people with 120 different ethnic groups according to National Geographic. However, Russians mostly identify with the Slavs who migrated to the country some 1,000 years ago, but the Scandinavians also made their way down south of the country where they mixed with the already inhabited region. As it comes with being a massive country, it is also no surprise of the many animal species that could thrive in Russia such as snow leopards and polar bears. One of the well known species of cats in Russia is the Siberian Tiger, which is also the largest cat in the world. It is also noted that the Russian economy is based on valuables including oil, gold, and aluminum.

Barbados, Caribbean

Movie - Pirates of the Caribbean

The well-known movie, Pirates of the Caribbean, obviously filmed in a very exotic Caribbean setting, is notably the most famous and iconic movie of all time. The Caribbean is a very beautifully unique and exotic part on earth and is home to several countries/islands. However, only two percent of Caribbean islands are even inhabited despite there being more than 700 islands, reefs, islets, etc. Caribbean islands are said to have tropical weather, meaning that whoever or whatever decides to live on one, they are to face very hot and humid weather a majority of the time. This is because majority of the islands fall under the equatorial belt within the tropical climate zone where this type of weather is the most common. Caribbean culture has historically been influenced by that of African, European, Amerindian, and Asian traditions due to the migrations in the area, however, many of the people of African descent were brought to these islands as slaves by the Europeans. And after slavery ended, many stayed on the islands.

Rome, Italy

Movie - 7 Hills of Rome

Rome, a metropolitan city in Italy has one of the most interesting history and historical tourist destinations. Rome was also blessed with moderately better vegetation compared to some of the other European countries during that time. In fact, what we’ve known as Rome, it was a small village at one point which sprung into a great civilization in the later years due to the surplus of grain and olive productions. Also, the Apennine Mountains made travel between the nearby cities over—which was a plus for Rome especially during war. The physical geography of ancient Rome consists of the seven hills and the Tiber river. In any case, the seven hills ALSO protected Rome from any outside attacks. As for life in ancient Rome, it was especially great for the wealthy who lived far away from the noise of cities and lived in luxury like anywhere else in the world.
