The United Kingdom is a nature lover's paradise. It has a diverse landscape, ranging from stunning cliffs to beautiful forests and magical mountains. Although it's not one of the biggest countries in the world, each region in the UK is completely different from one another.

It seems like different powers shaped the British Isles, thus each geographical area looks like a completely separate piece of art.

The UK has walks for any calibre of hikers out there. You can enjoy a hike on the beach, surrounded with breathtaking cliffs and the rough sea. You can explore the magnificent scenery while scrambling up the mountains in the Lakes or the Peak District. Or you can experience the stunning wildlife and mesmerising landscapes in one of Scotland's national parks.

So without further adieu, I want to introduce you to 5 amazing walks you should add to your bucket-list for 2020!

Helvellyn

The Helvellyn walk is one of the most popular hikes in the Lake District. And although it gets its share of visitors each year, this is not an easy stroll in the park. Climbing Helvellyn can be quite dangerous in bad weather conditions.

Like most walks in the Lakes, it has quite a few trails you can tackle. Some are easier, while others will have you scrambling up and down on sharp boulders. It's a great walk that offers paths for a different level of experience. But don't get me wrong, there are no easy ways to reach the top of this mountain.

Helvellyn offers beautiful scenery all along the trail. On a clear day, you can even see the ocean on the west. And the magnificent views of the Lake District hills will surround you from all other parts of the trail.

Stanage Edge

Stanage Edge Walk is a brilliant hiking trail in the Peak District. It involves more than just the stunning views of one of the biggest gritstone escarpments in the UK. The walk starts from Hathersage - a beautiful historic village, that is a resting place of Little John, who was the companion of England's most known outlaw Robin Hood.

Stanage Edge is considered not just a great place to hike. It's also one of the most popular climbing destinations in the UK. You can usually see the climbers challenging the escarpment on your walk.

The walk itself is suited for all levels of hikers. It's not too short, it is not too challenging either. On a clear day, you can see the 3.6 miles long edge in its true beauty.

Kinder Scout

Kinder Scout is a National Nature Reserve and a moorland plateau in the Dark Peak of the Peak District. A part of this moor is the highest point (636 m) in the Peaks and Derbyshire.

The Dark Peak region is known for its hard walks but Kinder Scout, although still on the harder side of the scales, is one of the most enjoyable walks there.

Kinder Scout walk opens up a magical landscape or moors, green hills, and beautiful traditional farms. It's quite a popular trail and many people from around the area come here to enjoy nature.

Dovedale

The Dovedale Walk is another magnificent trail you can experience in the famous Peak District. This hike has amazing rewards you can take fairly easily.

The Dovedale hike takes you on a trail through stunning hilly landscapes and forests, near the River Dove. You will pass magnificent gorge and be able to see the great limestone features of Lover's Leap. The return is harder than the first bit, but when you climb the Bailey Hill, you get to marvel at the spectacular panoramas of the area.

Ben A'an

Ben A'an is another wonderful walk you should consider adding to your bucket-list hikes in the UK. This hike to a mini-mountain is one of the must-do trails in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.

Although the mountain itself is not that spectacular, the views it presents from the summit are breathtaking. You can see the magnificent Loch Katrine. You can also enjoy the view of Loch Achray sitting right next to the Trossachs town.

The Ben A'an walk is one that you will want to allocate more time for as you can just sit on top of it and enjoy the stunning beauty of nature in solitude.

To Conclude

The UK has some of the best walks in Europe. And although countries like Italy or France are normally preferred hiking destinations, its beautiful trails are always waiting for you to experience the great diverse nature of this country.
