3 Reasons to go to Palawan

A great scape from your usual vacay

Have you ever thought of going to the Philippines? Manila the country's capital is a lot of fun and a giant city with a lot of adventures. (And a lot of traffic.)

Couple vacay: 5/5

Solo vacay: 4/5

Family vacay: 4/5

A brief introduction of the Philippines:

Located in southeast Asia, it is easily considered a tropical climate. They usually have two kinds of weather. Hot and very hot. The sun almost always beating down on you. Swimsuit weather? YES. Is it humid? YES.

If you are a seafood lover, they have great fish markets. Some restaurants let you pick out your food from the fish market and then they will cook it for you. Fish markets are basically where you can walk through many different merchants who sell different kinds of seafood. From living fish to even clams and plenty of other seafood like squid. (FYI: Squid is surprisingly very good.)

However, if you love shopping then you should know they have some of the world’s largest malls. Speaking of which, you can buy the most beautiful fresh and salt water pearls here. They will even let you pick the pearls and make the jewelry right in front of you if you wanted. Did you know there is a huge range of colours of every kind of pearl. There is even a gold colour. The more perfect the pearl is and undented it is then the more expensive it will be.

But, have you ever heard of Palawan, Philippines? It is one of the largest islands in the Philippines.

Fun fact: This tourist destination has only become popular from 2018. Here are three reasons why you should find yourself packing to go have fun and relax in Palawan, home of the most amazing beaches.

My prized view

1. You can take lessons and go scuba diving, if that is not your cup of tea then you can even go snorkeling or even casually swimming. (Even just sitting on a boat is amazingly relaxing).

Either way, the water is always the perfect temperature.

2. It is home to one of the new 7 wonders of nature.

Now that's a big deal! The Puerto Princesa Underground River is amazing. They take you into a dark cave and tell you stories about it. What kind of stories you ask... well you just have to go and find out yourself.

3. The boat tours. More specifically the island hopping tours.

Imagine a warm soft breeze flowing past you as you “sail” across the water to island after island. They also prepare a lovely seafood and fruit buffet that is so beautiful to look at I don’t even want to eat it. But I did. And it was the best food I have ever had.

Going back to shopping, there are a bunch of small little shops that are family. My sister bought a handmade purse from one of them.

So what do you need to go here:

1. The currency is Phillipino pascos

2. A water proof bag. (If you don’t have one, they do sell them) Negotiating for a lower price happens a lot here.

3. Bring your own water or stock up on it here. You cannot drink the water or get it in your mouth or eyes. It might make you sick.

4. Don’t bring flashy jewelry when walking around. One of my friends was walking around and someone tried to yank off her necklace.

5. Remember to have fun and love every minute you are there. Because this is an incredible place to go. People there are so friendly, kind, and full of compliments.

Stay safe and enjoy your travels
