1.Lake Scropoasa

Lake Scropoasa, although less known, is of enchanting beauty. The expanse of water that is the color of the emerald and the picturesque area around it certainly surprise those who arrive in the area.

Scropoasa Lake is 2.5 km long between Scropoasa and Dobreşti and about 10-15 meters deep. Scropoasa Lake has a drop of 304 m and a water volume of 0.55 million cubic meters. It is an artificial dam lake, built in 1929 and ensures the weekly regularization of the Ialomiţa River. The lake has a hydropower potential of 1500 - 2000 kw / km, which determined the construction of the first Romanian hydropower plant, in Dobrești, in 1936. The plant was, until the location of the Bicaz hydroelectric plant, the largest hydropower plant in Romania in terms of power. installed.

A few years ago, Scropoasa Lake was one of the main tourist attractions in the Bucegi Mountains. At that time, in the immediate vicinity of the lake there were two accommodation units, but also camping places, both on the lake shore and in the surroundings. Currently, there are no more campsites and no accommodation around the lake. Cabana Scropoasa, once very popular, is now a ruin.

2. Lake- OCHIUL BEIULUI. DEVIL'S EYE

Lake Ochiul Beiului is located in an area of impressive wilderness in the Cheile Nerei - Beușnița National Park, on the border of the Anina Mountains and the Locvei Mountains, at an altitude of 310 meters. The shape of the lake is a crater 3.6 meters deep, and the water is so clean that the trout swimming in it can be admired in all their splendor.

The transparent and turquoise water gives a mythical note to this place, especially considering that the legends of the iel are also related to the lake Ochiul Beiului. It is said that here they gather, dance and bathe in the woods on the night of Sanziene. However, given how impressive the lake is and how beautiful the natural setting is, it is no wonder that the ieles chose this very place, because it is certainly one of the most beautiful places in our country, which you MUST visit. at least once.

Another legend related to the formation of this lake was reported to me on Facebook by Rodica Vranciuc. It is said that the son of a drunkard who ruled the area fell in love with the daughter of a shepherd, whom he abducted and imprisoned in a tower in the Nera Gorges. But the girl managed to escape and ran away during the night. The drunk felt offended and ordered the girl killed. The drunkard's son cried so much for the beautiful girl he had fallen in love with that his tears filled the lake, and the color of the water borrowed the color of his eyes. In fact, the lake has the oval shape of an eye. Eventually, in desperation, he ended his days. The legend also says that the girl turned into a river - Beușnița River.

Delta

Whether you have reached the delta or not, the image of pelicans living without hindrance and water lilies floating proudly on the expanse of water will surely pamper your imagination. A few hours' walk in the cradle of the waves on the arms of the Danube is the drop of water that touches the sand of the desert, a city soul, too often exhausted by the spiritual deprivations imposed by a suffocating city. If you think that the 5-hour route on the canals of the great river is too long, we promise you that at the end of it you will have wanted to end only once with the holiday. Don't be surprised if you wake up wondering how that wild universe and office buildings can belong to the same world.

Do you think that after an hour of yoga and Buddhist meditation you are more free from tension and more spiritually charged? We challenge you then to tell us how your soul feels after a boat trip in the heart of the Danube Delta. And if on the way back from the lake walk you will be soaked in dishes specific to the Lipovan cuisine or if someone with fresh fish picked from the Danube and cooked on a bed of vegetables will perish under your nose, do not resist. The cooking of the Lipovans is as unique and authentic as the place where they were born.
