If you're considering a romantic tropical holiday or honeymoon, you've definitely come across Sandals Resorts and are a little overwhelmed by your selections. There is a lot to learn about this excellent resort, and the information provided below may help you narrow things down. If not, please contact us for more information, and we would be pleased to clarify things for you.

1. Gordon "Butch Stewart created Sandals Resorts in 1981 with the opening of their flagship resort, Sandals Montego Bay. Mr. Stewart is a Jamaican native who takes tremendous pleasure in his homeland and culture. When you stay at a Sandals Resort in Jamaica, you can sense the island's pulse. Sandals today boasts more than 20 resorts under its roof, including six in Jamaica, three in St. Lucia, two in the Bahamas, two in Barbados, one in Antigua, one in Grenada, and a few more family-friendly sister resorts, including the world-famous Beaches Turks & Caicos.

2. Each Sandals Resort has its own unique personality. There are no two alike. Some are large and vibrant, making them ideal for folks who enjoy nightlife and activities. Some are smaller and more intimate, making them more suited to consumers seeking a boutique experience. Beach lovers, pool lovers, and those who want it all have options.

3. Tours from the airport to the resort are included in all Sandals Resorts. Your shuttle may stop at another resort before arriving at yours in destinations where there are multiple resorts, giving you the option to upgrade to private, nonstop transfers. However, this is not a requirement because transfers are one of the many "extras" that Sandals includes with your package.

4. A fully equipped in-room bar is included in all Club Level and Butler Rooms. During your visit, your accommodation will have a refrigerator stocked with sodas, juices, beer, and wine. The concierge service may also provide whole liquor bottles to your accommodation upon request, so whatever spirits you choose, they should be able to accommodate*. (*Note: Because all things must be imported into the Caribbean, certain labels may or may not be accessible at any particular moment depending on when you visit.)

5. Scuba diving, golf, and a variety of other non-motorized water sports are all available at Sandals! There aren't many all-inclusive resorts that can say that, but it's just another example of the high-end amenities you'll find at a Sandals Resort.

6. You can stay at any one and play! You can visit any of the Sandals Resorts on the island and have full eating and entertainment privileges for the entire day, regardless of which one you stay at. Sandals will even provide transportation between your hotel and another in the same town. (*The only exception is Sandals Royal Plantation, which has privileges at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort but cannot give the same choice to Sandals Ochi Beach guests due to the intimate size of Sandals Royal Plantation.)

7. Tipping is prohibited. That is correct! You may have previously stayed at another all-inclusive resort where tipping was not included, but you felt compelled to tip nevertheless during your trip. At Sandals, this is not the case. It is completely free, and their employees are not permitted to receive tips. The only people who can accept gratuities are those working at the spa and your butler, if you reserve a room with one. Only these employees are exempt from Sandals' "no tipping" policy.

8. Sandals Resorts were created with couples in mind. Only one king bed is provided in each room. While Sandals accepts same-sex couples and the occasional wedding guest who isn't in a love relationship, no accommodations feature two beds. Only a few resorts offer rollaway beds on request, but the brand's philosophy is for guests who share a room to also share a bed.

9. THE LOOP is available at each resort. There is information on THE LOOP in every room, but it is the most effective approach to guarantee that management is made aware of difficulties as soon as possible so that any concerns may be addressed. This will come in handy if you need any maintenance in your room or have any problems during your stay. Much more convenient than walking all the way to the lobby to address your problem!

10. SandalsFoundation.org is a nonprofit foundation run by Sandals... This is a fantastic organisation that helps the entire Caribbean community through donations and volunteer work... The organisation encourages people to donate educational materials to local schools and even conducts a weekly reading road trip excursion on most islands. If you want to learn more about their activities, visit their website before your trip.

Hopefully, this has given you a taste of how lovely Sandals Resorts is and how wonderful your holiday can be when you stay with them. Every Sandals resort has been visited by me several times. I have sent over 3000 individuals on honeymoons and vacations to each of their resorts in my 30+ years as a travel advisor, and I have been the best selling Sandals Specialist in Augusta, Georgia since 1993.
