India's highest mountain peak Kangchenjunga is situated at the border of India (State - Sikkim) and Nepal. It is also the world's 3rd highest peak after Mount Everest and K2. It is also the least populated state of India.

The people here are welcoming and polite to everyone. When I visited this beautiful state and have a conversation with different people in the north and south Sikkim. I come to know that most people know Hindi, English, and Nepali. So, Language is not a barrier in this state.

1. Gangtok

Gangtok is the capital city of the state Sikkim. It is one of the beautiful cities in the mountain area and in India also. It is a common Sikkim tourist place for a traveler. The roads are clean, if you have any problem, people will help you with a smile. I had a wonderful experience when I visited this place. You can walk on the roads at night with no worries. The police of this state are very kind and helpful.

2. Nathu La pass

Nathula pass is among the most popular Sikkim tourist places located at the India China border. The temperature here ranges between 4 to -20 c in winter. This place is cold and due to the high altitude at 4310 m above the sea level, the oxygen here is low. So, you may face problems like breathing, etc. It is 52km away from Gangtok city.

I have not taken the Nathu La pass photo because my phone switched off when I reached there. I have taken the photo of the nearby roads that go to Nathula pass. This is the view of the road to Nathula.

3. Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir

The mandir is named after the Indian army soldier Baba Harbhajan Singh. Who martyred at the age of 22. There are many beliefs and stories about Baba Harbhajan Singh. The famous Indian YouTuber BB Ki Vines also made a video on the Harbhajan Singh. The temple is situated at a height of 13123 ft above sea level.

4. Tsomogo Lake

It is one of the beautiful lakes in India. The view is magnificent. In the winter times, the lake is completely frozen. When I visited Tsomogo Lake in winter at that time it is frozen. It is among the most popular tourist places in Sikkim .

5. Gurudongmar Lake

The main reason to visit Gurudongmar lake is the amazing eye-catching view. If you are planning to visit this place in winter then make sure to take all the necessary precautions. This place is situated at an altitude of 17800 ft above sea level. Also, the oxygen here is low, so you may have breathing problems.

There is no hospital or medical service available nearby. To visit this place you have to take a permit from the Indian army.

6. Teesta River

The river is clean and the water looks light blue in color. In winters, the river is frozen at high altitudes but not at a relatively lower altitude.

7. Himalayan Zoological Park

This was my first time when I visited a zoo at such a high altitude. Like every zoo, walk and observe animals, have some photos, enjoy the view of the Himalayan zoo.

8. Zero Point

This place is extremely cold in winter. The condition of the roads is also not so good. The main attraction of zero point, Sikkim is the amazing view and you will see no homes or people near this place.

Lachung and Yumthang valley is a place in the north Sikkim. The places that come in the area of North Sikkim generally have high altitude.

According to my opinion, the best time may be September - December. You can visit this place anytime you want. But in the month of December and January due to bad weather and extreme snowfall, you may face traffic, road-block, and other problems.
