Las Vegas is an expensive place to visit, but to balance things out, below are 10 things that you can do for free.

1 - Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

Probably the most famous thing to do in Las Vegas, apart from visiting the casino's, is having your picture taken next to the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" Sign. To avoid the crowds, mornings are usually the best time to visit. Don't forget to check where the sun is in the sky to get the best lighting.

2 - Bellagio Conservatory

The Bellagio Conservatory is a must. The botanical displays change five times over the course of a year, depending on the season.

3 - Fountains of the Bellagio

There are over 1000 fountains outside of the Bellagio hotel, spanning over 1,000 feet. The fountains perform a synchronised show to music where water shoots into the air, as high as 460 feet.

Show times are:

Monday - Friday

  • Every 30 minutes from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
  • Every 15 minutes from 7:00 PM to midnight

Saturday, Sunday & Holidays

  • Every 30 minutes from noon to 7:00 PM
  • Every 15 minutes from 7:00 PM to midnight

4 - The Aquarium at The Silverton Hotel

The saltwater aquarium is a 117,000-gallon reef aquarium containing over 4,000 tropical fish, stingrays and sharks. Interactive feeding shows are scheduled daily at 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm.

5 - Downtown Container Park

The Downtown Container Park is an open-air shopping centre with art exhibits, concerts, movies and a kids playground. The park also contains boutique stores such as the LAYOP CLOTHING Co. and Sassy the Boutique, as well as restaurants including; Pinches Tacos, Waffelato and the Downtown Terrace.

  • Monday to Thursday 11.30 AM - 10 PM
  • Friday and Saturday 11 AM - 9 PM
  • Sunday 11 AM - 8 PM

Restaurants & Bars:

  • Monday to Thursday 11.30 AM - 11 PM
  • Friday 10 AM - 1 PM
  • Saturday 10 AM - 1 PM
  • Sunday 10 AM - 11 PM

6 - The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace

There are over 160 stores and eateries at the Forum Shops located in a Roman-themed setting. There is also a life-sized replica of Michelangelo’s David. The shops are very expensive. However, it is well worth a walk through this lavish shopping mall, even if it is just to window shop.

7 - Fremont Street Experience

Freemont street is a pedestrian mall with a covered canopy of over 130,000 square feet of LED displays, making it the world's largest video screen. The street contains shops, restaurants, bars, casinos, hotels and there is free music every evening, starting at 6 PM.

8 - Fashion Show Mall Runway Shows

The Fashion Show Mall is located opposite the Wynn on the Las Vegas Strip. The mall contains shops and restaurants and has free catwalk shows which are scheduled from Friday though to Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM.

9 - Studio 71 at Plaza Las Vegas

Studio 71 is a photo space for guests to take selfies in front of a neon backdrop. The display is inspired by the early years of the Plaza’s history.

Opening Hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 4pm – Midnight
  • Saturday & Sunday: Noon – Midnight

10 - The Volcano at The Mirage

A Las Vegas classic, the volcano erupts daily, with a display of fireballs and explosions to music.

The volcano erupts daily at 7 pm, 8 pm, 9 pm, 10 pm, and 11 pm.
