Tomsik Delivery Company

Companies that began Food Delivery, or Food Shopping has grown in America fast especially here in 2020 with a virus called COVID19 that has impacted how many fast food and restaurants operate.

More restaurants and Fast Food places are going NO INSIDE CUSTOMERS, or GOING DIGITAL, or only doing DRIVE THROUGH or DELIVERY.

Many companies and services choosing NO CONTACT DELIVERY this is where your food is picked up at the restaurant and dropped off at your doorstep but with no human interaction between the delivery driver and the person receiving the delivery. Everything is done through an app including payment, and tip if left by the customer. The delivery person justs picks up the food and drops it off at the customer's doorstep.

THE LARGEST FOOD DELIVERY or SHOPPING COMPANIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

DOORDASH, UBER EATS, GRUBHUB, POSTMATES, INSTACART

THE LARGEST PEOPLE TRANSPORTATION COMPANIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

UBER,LYFT

RECENT NEWS ABOUT THESE COMPANIES:

Recently GRUBHUB was sold to a company in Europe called JUST EAT, and POSTMATES was bought out by UBER.

LYFT also has announced that the company is planning on opening a food delivery option as well.

STOCKS OR INVESTMENT INTO COMPANIES:

Uber and Lyft already are available for investment on the NYSE, however Doordash will be joining them very soon on the NYSE.

UBER, LYFT are both publicly traded companies on the NYSE, and DOORDASH just is releasing the IPO and is planning on going public stocks soon.

THESE COMPANIES ARE FACING ISSUES WITH GOVERNMENT AGENCIES OVER EMPLOYEE OR INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR:

Recently in California Uber and Lyft had lost a case in court regarding moving the independent contractors to employees. There was an appeal as a vote was put to the people in California. Uber and Lyft won the vote that the people in California wanted the Independent Contractors to stay contractors and not employees.

However the victory may only be temporary as the Presidential Election was also going on Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the election. This could bring some issues in 2021 as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are for making the contractors into employees and have plans to introduce a bill called PRO ACT.

Though these companies won in California they could be facing new issues and debates in other States, or even on a Federal level.

DELIVERY and SHOPPING OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2021:

Covid19 the virus that has brought the fast paced growth of the delivery and shopping opportunities in 2020 may not see an end anytime soon. Though vaccinations and mask mandiates, lockdowns are sweeping the country once again this actually creates more delivery and shopping opportunities.

Many fast food restaurants and the food industry was already moving toward a digital world, more deliveries than eating inside even if Covid19 had not happened. The Covid19 virus just increased the speed at the industry was going anyways.

With companies learning that having employees work from home can be quite beneficial to them on many levels, even when the Covid19 Virus is controlled it may not change the path of working at home, and less indoor dining. Fast food places are already announcing closing the indoor dining and going digital, or only going drive through or delivery.

However it is possible these positions could become oversaturated as the companies do not have any limits on how many contractors they have in any one area. Also as I mentioned above they may have a battle with the newly elected President and Vice President, and may face battles in other states over the Independant Contractor or Employee issue.

MY FINAL THOUGHTS:

I believe this type of industry will remain an important part of the American Lifestyle for 2021 and beyond.

I plan to keep blogging and doing my video series on youtube under TOMSIK DELIVERY COMPANY.
