One of my all time favorite online mentors/financial gurus is the irreverent and fast talking Grant Cardone . . . while it helps that he is also hot . . . that is not what kept me listening to and reading his work. Grant Cardone is a fast talking, blunt, and direct speaker. Cardone attempts to be both “Uncle Grant” who will encourage you but also be that mentor who will kick you in the ass for not living up to your fullest potential.

A real estate developer investor, author of the 10x Rule and to my knowledge, the first person to win the challenge on Undercover Billionaire, Cardone’s mindset training and mode of self discipline is something we all can benefit from learning in order to 10x our own lives.

Today we are going to look at the four habits that Cardone believes will change your life and I happen to agree with all of them.

1). Study Super Successful People

This one is IMO, one of the most important. Many of us study any and everyone just because they are doing a little bit better than us. In order to 10X your life, you need to study the BEST of the BEST. Not someone who is doing kinda ok, or who looks like they are doing well. Seek out the number 1 and number 2 in your industry and study them. Not superficial study either. Cardone speaks of the importance of truly studying them and their habits. Get down deep into why they do what they do, how they build their businesses, and how they set goals for the long term (hint: most super successful people don’t look 10 years down the road . . . they are looking generations down the road).

One major takeaway that Cardone speaks about is that successful people continue to reinvest into their assets, marketing, and advertising.

2). Successful People Don’t Chase Money, They Chase Freedom

Again, we will reference #1 here, Cardone continues to expand upon

“Study the top of the food chain.”

Not your brokeass homies, not your boy down the hall in the office, and not your mother. Don’t even study the best person in your office. Study the best person in your field.

One common trait for those who are at the top of any industry, is that they ARE NOT CHASING MONEY. They are seeking freedom. Freedom of time, freedom of place, and freedom of creative control.

As I reflect on that, one of my good trader friends who you hear me reference often is Gerard. Gerard is a trader who has been financially independent for over a decade. Gerard has what we in Jax like to call, “Fuck you money”. Meaning that if he doesn’t want to do something he doesn’t have to. G is free to pursue creative projects that inspire him or not. G does not have to chase money . . . because G became the top of what he does and now has freedom.

Many of us think we are chasing the money, but that is inaccurate. We are chasing what the money represents: Freedom.

3). Master Income Creation

The super successful have found ways to make money work for them. Some do it via their own business, some like most of my friends enjoy trading stocks and crypto, and others prefer assets like real estate.

One thing remains the same, super successful people have found ways to make their money work for them. It works harder than they can, never takes a day off, never goes on vacation, and never has a sick day. Once you make your money work for you and you see how powerful of a tool that can be, you can never go back.

4). Learn To Follow Up

We are trained as children that if someone says “no” then we need to just not bother them. I see this so frequently in the Gen Z hustlers out there now. If someone tells them “no” it is the end of the deal. You have to learn that “no” means not today. Most importantly,

“A NO today, is not a NO tomorrow.”

Call that deal back or text them, snapchat them, whatever it takes to get closer to what you want. So what if they hung up on you or left you on read? YOU ALREADY DON’T HAVE THEIR BUSINESS. You literally have nothing to lose.

Final Thoughts:

Grant Cardone may be one of my all time favorite motivators. He tells it like it is and doesn’t care if you like it. His work speaks for itself from his uber successful and profitable real estate investments to his content following.
