When the Bubble Burst

Poof

Why do bubbles burst found on Oxford? Shatter someone's illusions about something or destroy someone's sense of well-being. Also, when I was looking this up AI had this. An economic bubble is a market scenario where asset prices surge far beyond their intrinsic value, driven by investor euphoria, speculation, and easy credit. The bubble bursts when this unsustainable growth ceases, panic sets in, and panic-selling drives prices down rapidly, often resulting in widespread financial losses (2026 April 17).

We all like to think that our lives are going to go easy. We exist in an ongoing wheel of hope. As individuals we get up to go to work, school, and whatever activities we are involved in. And while these are all great things there is this bubble of uncertainty inside of us. Follow me.

Let's start with the basics. Most of us need to eat, sleep, and drink at least water. Although this sounds like duh, it is not so easy. Some people right now can only afford frozen dinners, and not healthy food, some are even sleeping in cars/shelters, and not having clean water. There are people out there trying to save money so instead of taking a shower at their home they shower at a gym. Yes, all of this is very depressing, but true. I know someone in all of these situations.

I live off of mostly fruits and vegetables and they are not cheap at all. Sometimes I walk out of the store asking myself what the heck did I just buy. If you are a single person and the only one paying for everything, it gets rough real quick, unless you were lucky enough to find that dream job that pays great. I forgot to mention has anyone looked at the gas prices right now. The gas prices are outrageous.

What happens when the gas goes up? Everything goes up. We were not struggling enough with the tariffs that happened briefly, energy prices going up, food going up, and now let's add gas. When does this cycle stop?

Medical has gone up almost double. The older one gets you need medical things start to happen that you did not even see coming. Of course, no one wants to get sick but there are viruses out there, medical issues that require surgery. This year alone I just had one and now I am on my next one. So you need medical.

The only people who are truly surviving now are people who are younger, because they have more opportunities, billionaires, people in medicine, and AI. Also someone who was able to save most of their lives, and people who have someone else to depend on financially. It is true you could be a person that was making $150,000 a year to zero. Companies can close just like that.

The person running our country right now is worth $6.5 billion dollars written in Forbes magazine (2026 March 25). The amount of rich people in the US are 10%. What does this tell you? I have often asked myself if everyone who has no money left this country and it was only the millionaires and billionaires left, what would it look like? Who would they bully? Who would clean the bathrooms, cook the food, wash and dry clothes, serve food, or watch people's children? Ponder.

People who are walking around right now ignoring what is going on are clueless at what is about to come, because they have not been affected. I have friends that make a lot of money and I am very happy for them, but what about the people who are struggling. For them they can turn a blind eye and think this is OK, because they can afford things. For people who cannot, it is not so easy.

So while the people are turning a blind eye at what others are going through for the life of others is becoming very real. People cannot afford to live, enjoy, or be happy because their reality is becoming more real than they can handle. While I am usually a motivational writer this was too important for me not to write. Suicide rates are up. People with mental illnesses are up. People who are normally very happy are feeling this pinch too. So as these emotions build in people eventually the bubble is going to burst. Because things are coming to a head.
