If there were any in history

Presidents have played very important roles in the development of their respective countries over the years. They are leaders that people look up to for inspiration, because they are public figures. However, being a public figure doesn't mean that they are beyond mistakes.

The major aim of this post is to reveal the top reasons why presidents are not perfect, even when they tend to be carrying out their roles as leaders. You will be amazed that these people are just like any other person out there, as they are prone to making errors.

Lack of discipline

This is one of the most pressing problems of presidents all over the world. There is no need to be alarmed though, since it is only a sign that they aren't superhumans. Most of them are not disciplined in one aspect or the other, which usually leads to scandals and negative press reports eventually.

Do you remember the story between former US president Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky? Don't forget that he is one of the best presidents to have ruled the US given that the country enjoyed economic boom during his eight years in office. However, the sex scandal only showed that Clinton had a weak point. It was a scandal that caused his popularity to wane back then, as most people were in support that he got impeached.

Another typical example of indiscipline is that of Ehud Olmert, a former prime minister in Israel. He was very popular then for some brave decisions. However, after serving as Israel's prime minister from 2006 - 2009, he got sentenced to jail after being charged with accepting bribes. You may want to call this a shameful act, but it is only a sign that he is human.

They're authoritative

This is another aspect where presidents have only shown that they are humans who can crumble under pressure. Countries have their respective constitutions through which they are expected to be governed. This is only on paper as there have been reports of how presidents have managed to ignore the stipulations of the constitutions to achieve their selfish aims.

This is typical of humans as they are always looking for every possible means through which their goals can be achieved. Once they can't get much through some legitimate means, methods that don't align with the laws will then be used.

Do you remember the tenure of George Bush (2001-2009) who many refer to as one of the worst presidents in the history of the US? He became less popular by sending the troops to Iraq where they had to search for the weapons of mass destruction, which were never found. Lives were lost in the end, and people were screaming that he should be impeached for not making the right call.

By nature, humans want to protect everything they have got, even though they have to use unethical means. That was what former president George W Bush decided to do. He only used his office to bypass the provisions of the law.

They're scared

Fear is one of the major nightmares that most people who have become presidents usually experience. It comes in a bid to meet expectations by all means. It is only a sign that they are human beings, and anyone can occupy such a position. President Donald Trump of the US has shown this several times and has ended up being criticized.

For instance, immigrants have played a crucial role in the building of the US economy over the years. However, when Trump assumed office, one of his aims was to ensure that the number of people coming into the US as legal immigrants reduced to a great extent. This attracted lots of criticisms from members of the public who feel that the US has benefited from the skills of these immigrants economically.

While you may want to also criticize trump, don't forget that his decisions are based on fear. According to experts, his fears are based on the fact that there are too many immigrants in the country. He wants a situation whereby these people are documented.

They are arrogant people

Humans are naturally proud, which is why they don't take advice from people around them most of the time. It may interest you to know that your favorite president is proud and arrogant, which is why they usually end up getting caught up in one scandal or the other.

Have you ever seen any president admitting to making a wrong decision? They only admit that they have gotten it wrong after the completion of their tenures. For instance, the case of Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky is a typical example as the former only admitted to such an act after leaving office, even though it threatened the foundation of his marriage.

They are like every other human who would want to defend their personalities by being proud. This makes them not to take the advice of members of the public that have voted them into office. Even former US President George .W. Bush (Jr) never admitted that the decision to send the US troops to Iraq on a wild goose chase was wrong.

Horrible pasts

Are you condemning yourself at the moment for being bad? Do you know that leaders and presidents are just like you? Most of the presidents that you are looking up to for inspiration have had very horrible pasts before coming into offices. This means you may be doing yourself more harm than good by trying to look down on your potential.

Presidents aren't special in any way given that some of them never performed well amongst their peers. However, they were able to turn their fortunes around with some determination. It simply means that you can get to any height through commitment and persistence.

Final thoughts

Based on the above, it is very obvious that presidents are like others who are prone to mistakes. They will never attain that level of perfection even though some of them have been successful over the years.
