My “Two Sides” project will be discussing ex-president Barack Obama. In August 4,1961 Obama was born. Obama took the office in January 20, 2009 and left in January 20, 2017. He was seen by many as one of the best presidents to take charge in the US. People love him, for instance, for his kindness and his generosity, like when he cried for 20 children who died in Sandy Hook. People really connected with him at that moment. But on the other hand many people didn’t like him, and some even “blam[ed] Obama for the rising of ISIS” (Quora). People might hate him and people also like him. Some people see him as a great influence and a great president, and others always worry about the mistakes he made. But even amazing presidents make mistakes. Now let’s go into more detail on this.

First I will explain why people like Obama. People love him for his generosity, like I stated before. I will now explain five reasons people like Obama. He made an affordable health care act for people who are not willing to pay or not afford health care. It was later named Obama Care and stuck with it. He rescued the country from the Great Recession, cutting the unemployment rate from 10% to 4.7% over six years. He ended the long war in Iraq. He also supported the LGBT community’s fight for marriage equality. As well, he signed the hate crime Prevention Act, making it a federal crime to assault anyone about race, gender, or gender equality. Furthermore, Obama ordered the capturing and killing of Osama Bin Laden. I only gave five reasons why people admire Obama as a person and a political leader. There are many others. Let’s explore why people dislike Obama.

They are many things Obama has done. But everyone makes a lot of mistakes. I can’t say all the reasons so I'll just say some of them. People hate him mostly for the tax increases and blaming him for ISIS, which I'm pretty sure was not his fault. He made some new rules about tax which seems really fair and unfair, like making people with billionaires and millionaires pay the same tax as average people in democracy. A lot of the 1% of the population got furious at Obama for ruining their fortune, but a lot of people liked what he did. So this reason is in the middle of the two sides, it’s good and bad. This project should be called 3 sides.

I selected this project because I see Obama as a role model and someone who I want to be like in the future. What surprised me was people blaming Obama for making ISIS and blaming him for things even though he was trying to help. Personally I like him and people make mistakes and it’s just good to forgive instead of hate. Nothing really changed I kinda already new most of this stuff and I still look up to him. I think the thing to remember out of all of this is how people see people in different lights. I see president Obama as a good person and tries his best. While another person hates him and wants him to fail. It’s good to remember that your opinion isn’t always the right one and people will always have different thoughts.
