News of the Republican National Convention circulate social media with the most recent promise from Trump. Trump claimed to offer Americans (oh, I’m sorry, I mean, adult American citizens) a dividend of $5000 because America is economically strong. Once he spat that promise, the stadium erupted with applause while opposing content creators flooded their accounts, ready to post the latest.
What we know:
Trump often likes to make “promises,” the question is, will he follow through? During the campaign trail in 2024, Trump “promised” no new wars. Yet, here we are, stuck in another pointless war with an unforeseeable end. Trump “promised” lowering of groceries on day one. However, nearly two years into his term and American continue to see rising prices at the grocery store every day with his implementation of tariffs, importing mystery meat, and more. Trump “promised” a DOGE check because of all the federal cuts. Has anyone received that check yet? Sure, politicians make promises all the time, and many leave promises unfulfilled. So, why target another Trump statement? Because, truthfully, Americans hurt under Trump crafted economy.
Since Trump’s inauguration, millions of Americans have been laid off from work into a scarce job market. Companies continue to employ Artificial Intelligence (AI) over human workers to cut costs. Trump’s Regime plan future cuts to Medicaid, which will raise healthcare premiums. SNAP benefits already took a hit in November 2025 because of a government shutdown. The VA took budget cuts, leaving Veteran’s struggling for support. Bottom line, with millions of Americans struggling financially, Trump’s claim to pay $5000 if Republicans win is nothing more than another ploy to remain in power. Americans MUST NOT fall for this scam.
Where is $5000 going to magically come from? Because of the war with Iran and other Trump related projects, the current deficit reach over $3 trillion dollars. Trump claims Congress would not have to sign off on the $5000, but Congress allegedly controls the purse. Only Congress can authorize paying Americans $5000, not Trump. Hypothetically, if Congress were to sign off on the payment, it would add to the current deficit. So, the reality of Americans receiving $5000 is like hoping Falkor will magically appear in the sky to offer a trip to Fantasia. Keep hoping, America.
Trump’s promise is simply an act of desperation. Presently, the majority of the election polls point to a strong democrat win for both the house of representatives and senate. If (or should I say when) Congress turns blue, Trump and his allies will spend the last half of his reign (I mean, presidency) suffocated in investigations. For those paying attention, Trump committed a mountainous amount of actions worth investigation. Starting with insider trading. Trump and his allies buy stock on the market before Trump posts on his Truth Social. Immediately after his post, the stock prices rise and they sell their stock at the highest market price before it crashes back down. Then the military contract made to Trump’s family and friends. This violates the Presidential Emoluments Clause, which is Article II of the United States constitution. Of course, let’s not forget about the Epstein debacle. Trump appointed Todd Blanche, who currently heads the Department of Justice and a stark support of Trump. The odds of the Epstein files being released under Blanche are like winning a power-ball lottery. However, should Trump lose the support of Congress and the people elect politicians dedicated to holding Trump and his entire administration accountable, this could end his reign (again, I mean presidency).
My personal message to all readers: Don’t believe Trump. The old saying stands true. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Whether the American people were “duped” into electing Trump for a second go in the oval office, or whether some outside “influences” occurred, it seems we, the people, have reached our breaking point. Now is the time to unite and remove the cause of our everyday struggles. Check your voter registration and make sure you vote this voting season.
