The following are specific to Alabama through Georgia.

Alabama

Primary: March 3

Elected Delegates: 52

District Level: 34

At Large: 11

PLEO: 7

Alabama elects the 34 district-level delegates by ballot during the March 3 primary. So, your name will be on the ballot underneath the presidential candidate you are supporting.

Step 1: File a statement of candidacy with the State Party at Alabama Democratic Party Headquarters, 501 Adams Ave., Montgomery, AL 36104 between September 27 and November 8, 2019. You must declare your support for a candidate. The state party will request a $50 donation, but it is not required.

Step 2: Presidential campaigns have the right to strike potential delegates. The deadline for them to strike names is December 6, 2019.

Step 3: Petitions are not required for ballot status in Alabama. Campaign for the candidate of your choice to ensure they qualify for delegates (threshold is 15 percent). Encourage everyone to vote for YOU on March 3.

Alaska

Primary: April 4

Elected Delegates: 14

District Level: 9

At Large: 3

PLEO: 2

Step 1: House District Caucuses, April 18, 2020. Attend, and elect a delegate to the State Convention.

Step 2: File with the State Party—Alaska Democratic Party, 2602 Fairbanks Street, Anchorage, AK 99503—as a candidate for national delegate by April 30, 2020.

Step 3: Attend the State Convention, May 15-16, where delegates to the national convention will be elected.

Selection of PLEO and At Large delegates: Selected by the State Convention immediately after the election of District Delegates.

Arizona

Primary: March 17

Elected Delegates: 67

District Level: 44

At Large: 14

Step 1: File a statement of candidacy with the State Party by March 13, 2020.

Step 2: Presidential campaigns have the right to strike potential delegates. The deadline for them to strike names is March 27, 2020.

Step 3: Attend district level caucuses on April 18 and be elected delegate.

Selection of PLEO and At Large delegates: Will take place at the May 16 State Convention by the State Party Executive Committee. Filing deadline with the State Party Office is April 24.

Arkansas

Primary: March 3

Elected Delegates: 31

District Level: 20

At Large: 7

Step 1: File a statement of candidacy with the Arkansas State Party—William A. Gwatney Democratic Headquarters, 1300 West Capitol Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72201—between April 30 and May 7, 2020.

Step 2: Presidential campaigns have the right to strike potential delegates. The deadline for them to strike names is May 18, 2020.

Step 3: Attend the District Level Caucus Convention on May 30, 2020. It will be in Little Rock, place to be determined by April 18.

Selection of PLEO and At Large delegates: Will be elected by the delegates at the May 30 District Convention.

California

Primary: March 3

Step 1: File a statement of candidacy with the California State Party—1830 9th Street, Sacramento CA 95811—by the deadline of Friday, March 3, 2020 at 8 PM. You can also submit electronically, at [email protected], or by fax to 916-442-5715.

Step 2: Attend the District Level Convention on April 19, 2020. Locations of these conventions must be determined by March 30, 2020.

Selection of PLEO and At Large delegates: Will be selected on May 17, 2020 (at a place to be determined) by a quorum of District Level Delegates. Statements of candidacy must be filed with the state party, between February 7 and April 21.

Colorado

Primary: March 3

Elected Delegates: 67

District Level: 44

At Large: 14

Step 1: Attend the First Tier Precinct Caucuses, which elect delegates to the County Assemblies/Conventions, on March 7, 2020.

Step 2: File a statement of candidacy with the Colorado Democratic Party, 789 Sherman Street, Suite 110, Denver CO 80203, by March 23, 2020. Forms can be submitted electronically, at [email protected].

Step 3: Attend the County Assembly or Convention between March 7 and April 1, 2020. They elect delegates to the Congressional District conventions.

Step 4: Attend the Congressional District Assembly or Convention between April 2 and 17, 2020. They elect DNC delegates.

Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: Elected at the State Convention on April 18.

The Rules: Delegate Selection Plan—Colorado Democratic Party

Connecticut

Primary: April 28

Elected Delegates: 49

District Level: 32

At Large: 11

PLEO: 6

Step 1: Obtain a statement of candidacy from www.ctdems.org, and return it to the state party at CT Democrats, 30 Arbor Street Suite 106A, Hartford, CT 06106 or by emailing [email protected] by the deadline of May 4, 2020.

Step 2: Presidential campaigns have the right to strike potential delegates. The deadline for them to strike names is May 13, 2020.

Step 2: Attend your district level caucus on May 27, 2020. Locations are still TBD.

Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: Selection of delegates will happen at 8 PM, June 10, 2020, at the offices of the State Party in Hartford.

Filing deadline with the State Party is May 28, 2020.

Delaware

Primary: April 28

Elected Delegates: 17

Step 1: Attend your Representative District level caucus. Become one of the four people elected to the Delegate Selection Caucus. You must be registered as a member of the Democratic Party to participate.

Step 2: File a candidacy form with the Delaware State Party, 19 East Commons Blvd, New Castle DE 19720, or email the form to [email protected] by the deadline of April 9, 2020.

Step 3: Attend the DDSC Caucus in Dover on May 9, 2020.

Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: Will be selected at the DDSC Caucus on May 9. Filing deadline is also April 9.

Primary: March 17

Step 1: File a loyalty oath and statement of candidacy with the Florida Democratic Party at 1000 NW 65th Street, Suite 300A, Ft Lauderdale, FL 33309, or electronically at www.floridadems.org. The window is February 3 to April 7, 2020.

Step 2: Attend the Congressional District Caucus on May 2, 2020.

Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: Delegates will be selected by a quorum of District Level Delegates on May 30, 2020, at a location yet to be determined. Filing dates with the state party are between February 17 and May 11, 2020.

Primary: March 24

Step 1: File a statement of candidacy with the Georgia Democratic Party, at The Democratic Party of Georgia DNC Delegate Selection 2020 PO Box 89202 Atlanta, GA 30312, or electronically at [email protected]. Forms will be available on the website February 1, and must be returned by March 30, 2020.

Step 2: Attend the Congressional District Level Caucus on April 11, 2020.

Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: On May 16, 2020, by a quorum of the Democratic Party State Committee.

Filing deadline is between February 1 and April 13, 2020.
