New Mexico

Primary: June 2, 2020

Step 1: File a declaration of candidacy with the New Mexico Democratic Party, 300 Central Avenue SW, Albuquerque NM 87102. The deadline for filing is May 13, 2020. Forms will be available on March 1 on the party website.

Step 2: Attend the a ward/precinct level meeting between June 3 and June 6 that elects delegates to the County Convention .

Step 3: Attend the County Level convention on June 6, 2020 .

Step 4: Attend the District Level convention, where national delegates will be selected .

Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: Will be elected by county level delegates at the Post-Primary State Convention on June 20, 2020.

Filing deadline for PLEO delegates and At Large delegates is May 20, 2020.

In New York, District Level delegates are on the ballot underneath their presidential candidate of choice. Here are the hoops you need to hump through to get on the ballot.

Step 1: File a petition with the New York State Board of Elections with the signatures of one half of one percent of the enrolled Democrats in the CD or 500 (whichever is lower). The first day to circulate petitions is December 31, 2019 and they must be filed with the BOE between February 3 and February 6, 2020.

Step 2: File a statement of candidacy with the New York State Committee, 420 Lexington Avenue, Suite 1613, New York NY 10170, by a date TBD.

Forms about filing will be available from the State Party office by November 15, 2019.

Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: Will be elected at the State Convention in May 2020.

Step 2: File as a candidate with the North Carolina State Party, 220 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh NC 27603 by March 26, 2020.

Step 3: Attend your County Level meeting on March 28, 2020 and be elected delegate

Step 4: Attend the District Level Conventions on April 25, 2020, when national delegates will be selected .

In Ohio, delegates are on the ballot right beneath the Presidential Candidate of their choice. Here is what you need to do to get on the March 17 ballot.

Step 1: File a declaration of candidacy with the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office.

Step 2: File a declaration of candidacy with the Ohio Democratic Party, 340 East Fulton, Columbus OH 43215 by the deadline of December 31, 2019.

Step 3: Attend the Pre-Primary Caucus on January 7, 2020. The caucus will select the names of the people who go on the ballot.

Step 4: Once you are on the ballot, get people to vote for the candidate of your choice, and YOU.

Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: Will be selected by the State Executive Committee at a meeting in Columbia on May 9, 2020.

Filing deadline is May 1, 2020.

In Pennsylvania, candidates for delegate are on the ballot right underneath the Presidential Candidate of their choice.

Step 1: File a statement of candidate with the Pennsylvania Democratic Party—Delegate Department, 229 State Street, Harrisburg PA 17101 by January 27, 2020. Forms will be available no later than December 30, 2019 and online at www.padems.com

Step 2: Submit 250 signatures of voters in your Congressional District to the Pennsylvania Department of State,Room 210 North Office Building, Harrisburg PA 17120 by February 18, 2020. A filing fee of $25 must accompany the petitions. The PA State Party will pay the $25 if you request them to do so by February 11, 2020.

Step 3: Once you are on the ballot, get people to vote for your candidate, and for YOU.

Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: Will be selected by the members of the Pennsylvania Democratic Central Committee at a meeting on June 13, 2020, location TBD. Filing deadline is June 9, 2020.

Rhode Island

Primary: April 28, 2020

Elected Delegates: 21

In Rhode Island, candidates for delegate have their names on the ballot underneath the Presidential Candidate of their choice.

Step 1: File a statement of candidacy with the Rhode Island Democratic State Party

Step 2: File a declaration of candidacy with the Rhode Island Secretary of State, 148 West River Street, Providence RI 02904 on either February 26 or February 27, 2020.

Step 3: Obtain nomination petitions from the Secretary of State’s Office.

Step 4: Collect at least 150 signatures from voters in the Congressional District in which you are running for delegate.

Step 5: Submit the signatures to the local board of canvassers in the town or city in which you live by the deadline of March 1, 2020. They will forward them to Secretary of State’s Office by March 3, 2020.

Step 6: Once you are on the ballot, have people vote for the candidate of your choice and YOU.

Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: Delegates will be selected by the Rhode Island Democratic Central Committee on May 17, 2020, at a place TBD. Filing deadline is April 29, 2020.

Step 1: VOTE in the February 29 primary. You must vote to be eligible to be a delegate.

Step 2: Attend Precinct Level Meeting on March 14, 2020 and be elected to the county convention.

Step 3: Attend your County Level precinct between March 25 and April 7, 2020.

Step 4: Submit statement of candidacy to South Carolina State Democratic Party by April 30, 2020. The address is South Carolina Democratic Party, Attention: Convention Delegate, PO Box 5965, Columbia SC 29250. Scanned forms can also be emailed to [email protected]

Step 5: Attend the State Convention in Columbia on May 30, 2020, where national delegates will be chosen at District Level Caucuses..

Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: Will be selected by candidate caucuses at the State Convention on May 30. Deadline for filing is April 30, 2020 same as District delegates.
