Step 2: Attend the District Level caucus on April 25, 2020.
Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: Will be chosen by the State Party Central Committee on May 16, 2020 at a place to be determined. Filing deadlines for PLEO and At Large are April 17 or April 25 at Midnight (for those not elected at District Level).

Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: Delegates will be selected at a meeting of the State Central Committee on June 13, 2020. Filing deadline is May 15, 2020.

Precinct Caucuses: February 25, 2020

Step 1: Attend the Precinct Level caucuses on February 25, 2020 and get elected to the Organizing Unit Convention.
Step 2: Organizing Unit conventions take place from March 7 to April 19, 2020.
Step 3: Turn in a statement of candidacy to your Congressional District Chair at least two hours prior to the start of the District Level Convention.
Step 4: Attend the DFL Congressional District Convention in your district between May 2 and May 29, 2020.
Step 5: Presidential campaigns have the right to strike potential delegates. They exercise that right immediately before the District Convention begins.
Step 6: Make the case for yourself at the convention and get elected.

Step 3: Attend your Congressional District caucus on April 30, 2020, which will elect national delegates.
Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: PLEO delegates will be selected by the State Democratic Committee on May 9, 2020. At Large delegates will be selected at the State Convention by presidential candidates. PLEO filing deadline is May 2, 2020 and At Large filing deadline is May 22, 2020.

Step 2: Attend the Pre-Primary Caucus on January 25, 2020. The caucus will create a slate of delegates, who will then be apportioned based on the results of the February 11 election. Basically, the higher your name is on the list, the better.
Selection of PLEO and At Large Delegates: PLEO and At Large delegates are selected by the District Level delegates for a candidate at a meeting on April 25, 2020 at State Party Headquarters in Concord. Filing date is April 17, 2020.

In New Jersey, candidates for delegate are on the ballot beneath the Presidential Candidate they are supporting. Here are the hoops you need to jump through to get on the ballot.
Step 1: Submit a petition with the New Jersey Division of elections containing the signatures of at least one hundred (100) people eligible to vote in the Democratic Primary. Forms will be available from the Divisions of Elections in January 2020. Candidates for delegate can file together as a slate.
Step 2: File a statement of candidacy with the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, 196 West State Street, Trenton NJ 08608 by March 9, 2020. You can also file electronically at www.njdems.org. Phone number for the state party is 609-392-3367. Forms will be available starting January 6, 2020.
Step 3: On the ballot? Excellent! Go out and get everyone to vote for your candidate and YOU. Good Luck in the election!
