Russian forces, because of recent attacks on both Belgorod and Bryansk, launches major retaliative missile strikes on the Ukrainian capital. Kyiv consequently saw considerable damage. Industrial site attack, a retaliation for alleged Ukrainian strikes, was relentless.

"The number and scale of missile strikes on targets in Kyiv will increase in response to any terrorist attacks or acts of sabotage on Russian territory committed by the Kyiv nationalist regime," the Russian Defence Ministry said.

Belgorod and Bryansk, according to Russian authorities, were temporarily evacuated after Ukrainian forces allegedly shelled both villages. Other villages, Russian officials note, were also targeted. Civilians found themselves on the wrong side of several military engagements.

Klimovo, situated in Bryansk Oblast, allegedly came under fire from two Ukrainian helicopters. Residential buildings, with six air strikes seemingly carried out, suffered damage. Seven people were injured during the attacks. Maria Avdeeva , via her Twitter account, referenced Russian forces conducting strikes against Klimovo.

“It was [Russian forces] who fired on Klimovo”, Avdeeva tweeted. " Russian military shelled Klimovo in the Bryansk region of Russia, and then blamed Ukraine for this - allegedly Ukrainian helicopters did it."

Ukrainian officials, despite allegations made, denies the accusations. Possibly whipping "up anti-Ukrainian hysteria," something which fits with the established Russian rhetoric, it's likely Russians own forces were responsible for the attacks.

"Meanwhile, Ukrainian intelligence claims to have intercepted conversations showing the attack against Klimovo in Russia's Bryansk Oblast was carried out by #Russia," tweeted Michael A. Horowitz .

Targeting civilians, as we've seen over the past several weeks, is something Russian forces have repeatedly done. Targeting their own people, to gain international support, isn't a huge stretch. It's not completely ridiculous. Evidence can be manufactured.

Both Ukrainian officials and several Western allies, recognising Russia is playing games, believe the justifications made are bogus. It's an unprovoked war of aggression no one outside of Russia wanted. The Russian invasion has driven at least 44-million Ukrainians from their homes. Thousands of Ukrainians, defending their homes, are dead.

"Vladimir Putin, Ukraine continued shelling into the territory despite Russia's warnings. Two Ukrainian helicopters fired rockets at the village of Klimovo, about 40 km north of the border," tweeted Nguyễn Phúc Linh.

Russian President Vladimir Putin isn't fooling anyone. The justification, a so-called "special operation," doesn't ring true. It's time for good people to make their voices heard.

Russia, not a huge free speech supporter, blocks both Radio France Internationale and the Russian edition of The Moscow Times. No one should be surprised the Russian newspaper has been blocked. Think about it. The Moscow Times has been an independent news source since 1992.

"#Russia has blocked access to the websites of Radio France Internationale and the Russian-language service of The Moscow Times, the communications regulator said," tweeted Hindustan Times.

The Moscow Times, ever since Russia invaded Ukraine, has opposed Putin every step of the way. Thoughts, without ambiguity, were expressed. Putin, coming under significant criticism home and abroad, is unfortunately not backing down. Radio France Internationale, also blocked in Russia, has displeased Putin.

"Le blocage par la Russie, vendredi 15 avril, des sites internet de Radio France Internationale « prive un peu plus encore la société civile russe de la possibilité de s’informer librement, à l’opposé des infox et de la propagande », dénonce @RFI," tweeted by France's Le Monde Télé&Radio.

"History," as British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli once said, "is made by those that show up."
