Happy 250th birthday to the United States of America! Despite our current hostile, political climate, we can all agree with one thing: we're all Americans and unapologetic about it. I'll go over the reasons why being an American is one of the best things I could ever be. Let me know in the comments below the things you love about this county. Whenever a tragedy occurs, we come together as one and comfort each other. For example, September 11, 2001, was a date that will forever be in our minds. The nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives on that fateful day is when the country stood still. We mourned their losses and came together to pray for the families of the victims. I was 13 years old at the time and as someone who was born in the state of New York, it shook me to the core and wept. While 9/11 interrupted our daily routines for a moment, us coming together made our country a stronger place.

I'm the oldest child of two parents who emigrated to the United States from Liberia, which is located in West Africa. I was born in this country and as the decades went on, I've been a huge believer of equal rights and everything and everyone being diverse. Today, diversity and inclusion is a touchy subject for many people, mostly Republicans, for some reason. However, those two things are what makes our country grow and thrive. Regardless of where you align politically, being kind and having empathy for all people and their plights isn't an attack on your personal beliefs. We were taught as children to treat others the way we want to be treated. There's no hidden agenda behind it.

As fans of sports, we take them very seriously. No matter what team and/or sport you love and support, we're passionate about seeing them win. When our favorite teams win a championship, we celebrate with them. I know that most people get annoyed by us using the word we when mentioning anything about our favorite teams, but we're fans of those teams and stick by them through the good and bad. For example, I love baseball and my team is the Texas Rangers. The night that they won their first World Series title in 2023, I screamed in excitement while recording a reaction video. We'll never apologize for loving sports and being invested in it. Baseball, as they say, is America's pastime.

For the final point of why I love being an American is because there is a plethora of opportunities out there. Following your passion is never wrong. Whether it's acting or another career that you've been wanting to pursue, no one or nothing should stop you from getting what you want. If you desire to make a difference in this country and contribute to society, work hard for it. Hard work, as they say, pays off. Not everyone has the drive or motivation to work hard, but you are in the driver's seat in your own life. In other words, you are the only one who's in control of your own path. If people say that you'll never accomplish anything in life, don't listen to them. Everyone from all walks of life have opportunities to make a life for themselves.

We're all Americans and will forever be proud of the red, white, and blue! To those who recently became United States citizens, we humbly welcome you to our country. May you become successful in your life.

Lastly, to those who have proudly served our country. I personally thank you for your service. You are worth acknowledging and noticing.

God Bless America!
