President Donald J. Trump
Why I Love our Dennis the Menace
I've got to tell you from the beginning, I've always loved Dennis. He and I are both Baby Boomers having made his mark in the comic strips in early 1951. And so is Donald. If you look closer, you will see that Donald and Dennis both probably share the same barber, too. And, good gosh....don't they both just stay in trouble??? Honestly, I think they both mean very well, but it seems like they just have an innate talent to irritate others. But I love bad little blonde headed boys (I had two sons that are just like that, too.)
Even from the beginning, in 2017 when he took office, Donald had a difficult time with "others." He even had to get fellow Republicans to align with his plans for our country. I thought this was a bit unfair, myself.
But he didn't let that stop him. He just went to work for us. He made true to the campaign promises that were in his power to put forth.
As he boldly stated, he would get America back into a great economy by creating jobs and stopping other countries from taking advantage of us. He put his business skills to good use just like Dennis does. And we prospered! And he made the Republicans look so good, they had to start liking him.
He also had trouble with Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic minions from the beginning, too....sort of like Dennis has his troubles with that Pesky Margaret and her followers.
Trump had and still has more than his fair share of problems with the Media, too! Seems like he can't win for losing with them...sort of like if Mr. Wilson were the Media...
But he gives as good as he gets...even better. He's never short on retort.
Some of the issues Donald had also was making sure he had the "right" fit for the job in his staff. He had a rough start and many people came and went as his months in office proved. He had big expectations and his people needed to be proven that they could handle the job...sort of like the many babysitters Dennis had over the years...
And the staff that he had left, learned early on to contend with Donald's not so politically correct remarks. Nobody is perfect. Bluntness at least, is honest. We elected a businessman to get the job done, not a lawyer that can eloquently persuade with syrupy sweet words of deception or double truths. After all, weren't we sick of lies?
But one thing I greatly admire about Donald and Dennis both is that they love the armed service members and police. Law and order, our Country and the people in the front lines are the true heroes. Props to all who honor them and their service.
I see Donald Trump with a vision for our country. With that vision, he also has many brilliant people surrounding him and many people willing to work right alongside him to make America even greater! That is called the American Spirit and success is her child.
You see, I and many other Americans see the best in Donald Trump just like we see the best in Dennis the Menace. Just because they have a bad (unjustly and unfairly given) reputation, doesn't mean that their "rep" is true. I feel safe knowing he is our leader. Just like I feel Dennis has a pure heart, no malice, and no filter....I feel the same towards Donald. No apologies for those magnificent traits. That outshines the many faux pas he makes (in my books) and the mess that Dennis makes is small compared to the love he extends.
As a footnote, here are my two "Dennis the Menace" sons with their first little sister. You can tell the oldest had given himself a haircut. And don't let the sweet smile fool you on the other son, either. That same day, the photographer was leaning over, adjusting the props around my daughter with the camera to his back so he could take a single shot of my daughter when we were all amazed at the flash behind him...my oldest had taken a picture of the photographer's rear end. Yes, I love bad boys!
