Dear Humans and everyone else,

You could be a flea, pig, Human, flower, moose, whale, combination or other. Regardless of what you are, we all share a deep connection. We all need to survive. Whether or not our minds agree with our body, survival instinct is in each and every creature. The reason why living things fight to the end is because of hope.

Earth provides us with food, oxygen and shelter. The Earth is our master, and we are her children. Everything Earth crafts is designed perfectly for human survival. Earth has taught us in harsh ways over and over again that our misusing actions towards Earth’s resources have consequences. We are leading ourselves towards extinction.

Nature is taking the environmental crisis into her own hands. She has brought the Coronavirus. This virus is forcing areas of the world to go on lock down. Less planes are in the air, less factories are working and less people in stores. This is the warning sign from nature.

Society has been mainly blaming Donald Trump for his lack of effort to improve the climate crisis. It is important to mention that Xi Jinping is the Prime Minister of China, the top most polluted country in the world. India and Russia take third and fourth place as the most polluting countries. Xi Jinping, Ram Nath Kovind and Vladimir Putin, these leaders are all well educated. They are just as responsible as Donald Trump. They all need to enforce the right measurements to decrease the climate crisis. We the people need to implement it.

We Humans already learned how to survive a long time ago, from all the way back to the Cave times. At Cave times people designed the tools and skills needed to survive. Over the course of billions of years, we have made surviving even more meaningful. We have developed technology specifically for enjoyment. Enjoyment is addicting. Every century we demand more and more enjoyment. We all need the latest technology, clothing, cars, the list goes on. We have come to the point where the items that are not necessary for survival have become a must.

“You need to wear a new outfit daily, constantly travel to all sorts of places, drive the same car for no more than two years, have the same phone for just one year...”

All these items are created in factories and just the factories themselves create major waste. For the last few decades, very few items “live” to their fullest warranty before the owner throws them out and quickly finds a replacement with something more “new” and “exciting”.

These items end up in the ocean and in landfills and we just continue consuming. This cycle goes on and on.

Earth does not have enough resources to keep up with all of our high demands.

To most people, this is not new. This highly consuming lifestyle is just too good to let go of, and that is the issue.

Advertisements. We see them everywhere we go. They are in bus stations, schools, magazines, social media, you name it. The amount of ads we see daily are increasing rapidly.

Seeing up to 50 ads a day encourages people to make unnecessary purchases. Over-advertising is the top reason we are facing this environmental crisis today.

Cigarette ads have been banned for decades, because cigarettes harm people's health. Over-advertising is harming nature.

The solution is to educate people on how to consume wisely. Laws should be created to restrict the amount of advertisements released. The minimalist lifestyle needs to be encouraged.

Reducing waste is the number one action that will save us. Practicing "reusing, recycling and recovering" are supportive solutions.

There are many Humans and just one Earth. The Earth has taken care of us creatures for centuries. Now it is time for us to care for her, and assist her in recovering the damage we have done. The Human race depends on it.

With love,

A young human and her cat.
