In The Wake Of Chaos

What Can We Create to Make America Greater than Ever

After four tumultuous years of chaos, we have finally arrived at the precise moment in time to officially say goodbye to #45. For those of us who had an especially hard time accepting the results of the 2016 Presidential election, it’s going to feel pretty satisfying saying the words “You’re Fired!” to Donald Trump, the man who made that phrase famous.

Thinking back, many Americans felt as though they’d been punched in the gut on Election Night four years ago while watching as state after state fell towards Trump. Unbelievably the most bizarre presidential nominee was gaining momentum, and it was shocking to see him have more support than anyone would have ever guessed.

How did this happen?

These past several years felt much like purgatory to millions, but could they actually be a blessing in disguise? Could this period of time actually be the catalyst to embark upon a new trajectory that actually heals the wounds that are still so fresh and gapingly open?

Even though I myself was literally curled up into a ball and crying that painful night, when I had basically lost my faith in humanity, I have come to know just how brilliant Trump has been in moving this world forward and dismantling the structures that are so in need of crumbling. He in fact has given us all an Academy Award winning performance in stirring up the chaos and quickening the global transformation to come.

"the cockroaches are being driven out of the shadows and into the light of day...trust that the world will be a better place to live once the waters calm in the wake of chaos"

Perhaps what we are witnessing is the rise and fall of hate, bigotry, and injustice and the ushering in of a new existence where "Love Trumps Hate." The birthing process is often excruciatingly painful, and yes, many now realize there was a madman at the helm of our country that we are now suffering from symptoms of severe PTSD in the aftermath .

Just four years ago, he came in as the great anti-establishment disrupter, and he certainly did so with flying colors. During that time, our lives have, for the most part, gone sideways—and in some cases has been completely turned upside down.

But, is that so bad?

Were the systems and structures we previously had in place so amazingly good? No, not really.

And yet, I do wish he’d done a better job handling the Covid-19 pandemic. If nothing else, he could have set a better example for flattening the curve. He could have led with less back and forth confusion. He even had a brilliant chance to redeem himself once he caught the virus himself. But, he didn’t. He held more big ego-events instead.

If he really had learned so much from that experience, why then did he continue to encourage his followers to gather in large groups for his non-stop rallies? How many people needlessly risked exposure to this virus? Hello, this is a highly contagious thing. We can do better.

I’m also not in favor of inciting violence—and there’s certainly been a lot of that these past several years, not to mention the recent violence at our Capitol in D.C. And yet, in all of this, we can learn more, such as seeing deficiencies in our systems and the deeply rooted personal beliefs that have been revealed. Everything that is wrong seems is coming to the surface and it’s no longer hidden.

For that I am grateful.

It’s now up to us, as individuals, as to what we do with this expanded knowledge and awareness. Experts suggest we pay attention to our own emotions in a non-judgmental way and ask, “do I enjoy this chaos?” “do I enjoy the outrage?” “is this kind of fun and dramatic, in a sick sort of way?” If so, you’re adding to this energy.

I remember an interesting thing during interviews with Tony Schwartz, who co-wrote the book Trump: The Art of the Deal back in the 80s. Tony said he went through his own personal reckoning realizing there’s a “Trump” in all of us. They are the worst parts of ourselves—and what we try to disown, avoid, and despise.

Tony added, “What I’ve found is, the more I can own all of who I am, the good and the bad, the less I have to defend and the freer I become.” This makes me wonder. Is this why Trump was so watchable as a television star and now as a political character? But again, none of this matters. It’s all a game. A reality TV drama being played out on a national and worldwide stage. Better for us to focus more on ourselves—and the possibilities.

In the midst of chaos, I’m beginning to reside in a deep knowing that we are safe and loved. And yet, we are all being called upon to be leaders right now. In the absence of real leadership, we must look inside ourselves to find the truth of how powerful we are.

We have reached a point in our own evolution as a species where a new system must come in to replace the old dysfunctional structures that no longer serve humanity as a whole. We need to re-pattern the old energies that are embedded in our hearts, our DNA, and in the very fabric of our lands, societies, and planet. Our next evolution is critical to our survival. I know this to be true in my heart.

Yes, there are plenty of rabbit holes of conspiracies that say the same. But we must call on our higher angels to distill the truth of what is, and what is not. We need to also restore human values of decency, integrity, and truth.

Many say, “do the research” and that “the truth will come out” if you do. But what research are they referring to? The garbage that is being recycled around social media?

Doing the research is vitally important, and let me tell you, those that are just now dipping their toes into the rampant conspiracy theories of late, are being deceived. Again, no one is coming to save us. Trump is not the second coming of Christ. There is not a secret society controlling the world—at least not one that is human. That’s the problem with these theories, each has a thread of truth embedded in it. That’s what makes them somewhat believable. But they then take you somewhere else, and into the realms of nonsense.

Many times, I just want to shake some sense into these people. Are you serious? You actually believe the radical left, along with most movie stars, are Satan-worshipping child-sacrificing people who are controlling the world markets? For the love of God, wake up and get a grip on your sanity.

Yes, nature is out of balance, and there will be a natural course correction. But there wasn’t even a basement in the restaurant where Pizzagate followers claimed the Satanic rituals and pedophilia took place! Seriously? Even far-right conspiracy theorist, Alex Jones, the radio host for Infowars apologized and said the pizzeria was not involved in any human trafficking and child sex ring.

I know we are all reaching for certainty and ready to grasp at something to make sense, while the world around is appears to be crashing in, but really? Let’s keep these fantasies where they belong, on the big screen in your local movie theater. We can’t get lost in the rabbit holes.

Let’s use more common sense.

Yes, there are dark forces at play behind the scenes and can we do better. But we’ll lose our way if we solely focus on one election and one leader. We don’t need enlightened leaders—we need to take responsibility ourselves. Even the purest leader gets corrupt.

There is both light and dark in the world, but in what room does light not dispel the darkness once a light switch is turned on? We have more individual power than we think we do. We need simply to have faith and hope in our future. It is positive, if we believe it will be.

Okay, maybe I should get off my soapbox now.

In the beginning, I found myself a reluctant participant in this massive shift. It all seemed so daunting as the old structures were crumbling down. But now I can see this is an opportunity for a shift in human consciousness and one that ushers in a new world that behaves and operates at an entirely new level.

Now I can see how the U.S. can be the leader in this movement and no longer just as a military or economic powerhouse. We can do this by changing our perspectives; and through a collaborative and collective consciousness that we are able to change the world and save the planet.

It is time to cleanse and heal these wounds—and embrace and embark upon a new beginning for each of us as individuals and for us as a collective whole. It is time to experience the "second coming" in a way that it is not what you would think, but through each and every one of us being open to seeing it unfold this way and having a willingness to be changed by love through the process. Moment by moment and one person at a time.

There is hate and there is love. Love will always win over hate in all circumstances. Trump spoke to a hurt inside of people. Politicians have led many times to maintain their ego and power. Trump was able to use that pain, and the mistrust of the press, to his advantage. He is not perfect, but he represents what people long for, change. Forgive him for his past, and through your loving eyes see possibilities of change.

Don’t give into the hate.

As we emerge from these chaotic times, each of us needs to find our true selves in the process—and honor that part of us that is compassionate, caring, and full of love. We need to surrender into this love—and forgive all of that which is less than what we are truly designed to become.

We need to let go of the hate, division, anger, frustration, inequality and intolerance. We need to embrace our true sovereignty and strengthen our own integrity as we navigate the challenges of a path forward that is laced in unity and bound in a knowingness that we are all one; one people, one nation, one human race. For given the gift of this day, we can be truly grateful and humbled by the awe of just how powerful we are when united in love.

When each of us individually wakes up to the authentic divinity residing within, and takes responsibility for our own destinies, we in fact change the world from the inside out. In other words, what I’ve learned is each person has the power to make this a better place in which to live, by first making a change from within. You see, change really does begin within. It’s an inside out kind of thing.

A domino effect.

What’s most important is love, compassion, truth, trust, and integrity. At least to me. What’s of greatest importance is finding our inner connection and strength of character.

In essence we are electing the future. It’s not about any one presidential candidate. It’s more about our founding principles of equality and justice for all. It’s about choosing what we want for ourselves and as a society.

In retrospect, I’ve learned so much these past several years—and I need to give credit when credit is due. Thank you, Mr. President. But, now it’s time to move on.

In the in the wake of chaos, I believe our nation will rise again.
