Dear Donald, Black Lives F*cking Matter.

Donald,

You have singlehandedly made being a black person in this country even harder. So thank you! Thank you for making my life, and the lives of my brothers and sisters, hell! I have watched as people of color were murdered on camera in broad daylight. I have scrutinized the comment sections of those videos and seen hundreds of your supporters justifying these same murders. Calling black people "thugs" and somehow finding a way to justify the actions of the white law enforcement officers as if they did some sort of goddamn service to the world by taking another black life. Do you have any idea how hard it is to raise a six-year-old, African American child in a social media-driven society? Where she has access to EVERYTHING?! Do you know how many times I've tried to preach strength to her while simultaneously shedding tears? The biggest question I want to know is......

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT POLICE BRUTALITY IN THIS COUNTRY HUH?

Let me name a few of the people who died at the hands of the hatred that you so openly advocated!

1. BREONNA TAYLOR

Breonna Taylor was 26 YEARS YOUNG when she was murdered by Louisville police officers! They stormed into her home and took her life. She was hit by 6 of the 32 Bullets that were riddled into her apartment. Want to know the irony? Her boyfriend had no idea what was even going on so he called 911. He cried on the phone while holding his dying girlfriend in his arms begging for help from the same people who had just killed her. The cops weren’t charged for her death fyi. As if that wasn’t a slap in the face already, one of the cops got charged for wanton endangerment

HE WAS CHARGED WITH ENDANGERING HER NEIGHBORS!!

2. GEORGE FLOYD

George Floyd was murdered in Minneapolis by a white officer after being accused of using a counterfeit 20 at a local convenient store. Officers approached Floyd while sitting in a parked car nearby and immediately drew their weapons. With a gun pointed at him, he was immediately scared as anyone would be. There were a few struggles and eventually and UNARMED Floyd ended up on the ground with Derek Chauvin's knee in his neck. Did you know that he kept his knee on this man's neck for over seven minutes Mr.President? George said he could not breathe multiple times, called for his mother, and begged for his life for over seven minutes until he had no more life left in his body.

I.AM.TRAUMATIZED

Under your presidency, Derek Chauvin knew that there was little to no regard for black lives. He did not see George Floyd as a human being who had countless people who loved and adored him. He saw him as a thug whose life had no value. Of course people tried to justify his murder. Since when did using counterfeit money equate to receiving the death penalty? Since when has it been another human being's right to have the final say in whether someone else can live or die? And personally, I have not seen anything that actually confirmed he was using counterfeit money. Either way, his life should not have been at stake because of it.

3. Casey Goodson Jr.

How about this one Trump? We still have no explanation for this. Casey Goodson was just entering his apartment in Columbus, Ohio after a dental appointment.

THAT.IS.ALL

Yet somehow he was targeted by a police officer and gunned down in his own home. All he had in his hands were subway sandwiches and keys. Why was he targeted? His family is still searching for answers as there is no body cam footage to investigate.

4. Stephon Clark

This is Stephon Clark remember him? He was killed in California for simply standing in his grandmothers backyard holding a cell phone. Apparently police mistook the cell phone for a gun hitting him with seven of the 20 shots that were fired. Since when does a cell phone resemble a gun? He was minding his own business and he was killed at the young age of 22 by law enforcement.

RIP TO THEIR BEAUTIFUL SOULS.

I just want you to know that the lack of humanity that you have shown over the last four years has trickled down into the community. Everytime someone said your name, there was hate mail attached to it. You have left a scar on America that will take years to heal. I will forever be damaged by the things that I have witnessed, and the pain that I have endured. I have never looked forward to any day more than I look forward to Biden's inauguration. I pray that this country can begin to heal and find love again.

Someday I hope that you look back and realize what you have done. I hope that you will be forced to deal with the consequences of your actions one day. I pray that I do not become another hashtag in the meantime.
