100 days into the presidency, and Canada hopes against hope that Trump will step up to be a better man.

When it was first announced that you might run for the role of President of the United states, I laughed. Many of my Canadian friends laughed. We were so sad to see Obama leave the office, disheartened to see what Hillary was facing, and worried about who the new President would be. But still, your bid seemed like a joke to be played out in social media, and one that would never come to fruition. It was hubris, and you were clearly a narcissist. The American people would not allow it. This was not the first time I watched in disbelief as the American people voted against their own interests. I was similarly shocked by the level of support that George W. Bush received, and horrified by the antics of Sarah Palin. But I never even imagined that the people, the presidency, would stoop so low.

Your rise to popularity and eventual win of the election was unbelievable in every way. You were not qualified, you were never engaged in politics, and you seemed to be more interested in your work on The Apprentice than actually working toward a goal. Your very public criticisms of Barack Obama hadn't even made sense. When your campaign kicked off in earnest, you immediately began acting like a child; like a 10-year-old bully. And yet, this resonated with some people. They repeated your rhetoric and latched on to your lies, and proceeded to make you their leader. From the sidelines in Canada, it was like watching the American people as a whole enter an abusive relationship.

Over 100 days in, and it seems that things are only going to get worse until someone stops you. You are incapable of admitting a mistake or a failing, and certainly would not step down in the interest of the people. As I watch your presidency unfold, it is clear you will never be the talented politician that the American people deserve. I only hope that you recognize the responsibility you hold in your hands, and be a better man.

You are dishonest, and you're not getting away with it. Your lies have cost America its reputation, and have cost you some of your own biggest supporters. The people have realized that they cannot rely on any statement you make as the President, or as a man. You've compromised the security of your people through your lies.

You are inconsistent in every possible way, and the people cannot rely on anything you have promised them. You have torn people down for behaviors you feel free to engage in, and denied making statements that were caught on camera. Each day it becomes more apparent to everyone how childish and incapable you are. You are every bad -ist. You've proven yourself to be a racist, a sexist, and discriminatory in every sense. A real man respects those around him, and you could learn something from the people you insult (and just so you know, Hillary Clinton is smarter than you). Those who have supported your campaign do so through fear, and false feelings of superiority.

You expect the world to go along with your lies. This is classic behavior for bullies, and the severely mentally ill. Even when confronted with evidence, you will deny and twist and refuse to deal with your own reality. You have become entirely unreliable. Please stop these terrible charades, and admit when you've made a mistake or need some advice.

You paint yourself as a victim when you are a bully. Frankly, how dare you behave this way. You have attacked former presidents, journalists, your competition. You have even gone on to paint yourself as the most persecuted politician in history (forgetting, I presume, the American presidents who were assassinated while in office). You are a narcissist. You are a self involved child that needs to be stopped. Your job requires you to think ] more about others than yourself, and you refuse to do so. You are incapable of doing so.

I hope it is only a matter of time until you are impeached as President of the United States. I have no doubt that you will continue to wreak havoc until you are removed by force from your position. Until then, I can only hope that you realize the seriousness of your role, and step up to be a better man, if not a better President. Please don't undo the progress that has been made in the United States, the world is watching and hoping.

Here is why I think he is not going to win again in 2024: US Economic Performance: America’s economic indicators are robust and continue to outperform expectations. Unemployment rates are at a historic low, marking a 40-year record. This strong job market reflects positively on the current administration and may sway voters to seek continuity rather than change. Financial Performance: Wall Street is showing its best results ever with the S&P 500 crossing 5000 for the first time ever in intraday trading, the latest milestone for a U.S. stock market powered by a resilient economy and subsiding inflation. Part of these records are due to big Tech stocks carrying record high performance, led by Meta, and Amazon. This financial strength is a boon for workers and keeps the risk of a recession low. However, it could delay interest rate cuts by keeping some upward pressure on inflation. US Energy Leadership: The United States has emerged as a global leader in energy production (with over 13 million barrels of oil per day), boasting the title of the largest oil producer and a significant investor in renewable energy initiatives. This helps keep gas prices low, while making the US a leader in the global green-growth transition. This dual focus on traditional and sustainable energy sources aligns with evolving global priorities (deglobalization being one) and positions the nation for long-term economic growth and stability. Stable Financial Environment: With decreasing borrowing costs and inflation rates (even though we may have to wait until June for an interest rate cut by the Central Bank), the 11 consecutive interest rate hikes performed in 2022–2023 are paying off as capital becomes more affordable and people’s purchasing power increases. With this, more people are buying homes, which is the ultimate American dream. By the time of the elections, these trends are projected to continue and will increase the prosperity of most Americans, particularly those in vulnerable economic conditions, providing a sense of security and well-being among the electorate. Immigration Dynamics: President Trump will use the immigration and security card aggressively. No doubt about it, and he is right, the numbers are very high. Initial data suggest that nearly 1.2 million immigrants became lawful permanent residents in the US in 2023. This number is high because countries around the world are in trouble, and America’s overall economy remains strong, making it the leading country of opportunity for people worldwide, attracting immigrants from all over the world who seek a better future. This influx of talent and ambition contributes to the nation’s vitality and economic growth. The appeal of the United States as a land of opportunity underscores the resilience of its democratic values and may influence voters’ perceptions of the current administration’s effectiveness in managing immigration policies. To keep it simple, guys, don’t forget that it is thanks to immigrants that our agriculture, service, manufacturing, and transport costs stay low and allow us a more affordable living. Expect the Biden administration to get tougher in the coming months to ensure that immigration does not exacerbate security and the rule of law. Rising Wages for All: Across all socioeconomic strata, wages are increasing or have increased, signaling a tangible improvement in living standards for most Americans. As the nation emerges from the tumultuous aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, Russia’s conflict energy shocks, and supply chain disruption, we would witness continuous economic expansion, which will benefit Americans. This upward trajectory in wages strengthens public confidence in the administration’s ability to deliver tangible economic benefits.
