Dear America

Dear America,

I carry a heavy heart as I write to tell you that, sadly, this partnership has undoubtedly come to an end. I wish I could give you the comfort of saying , it's not you it's me. However, it is definitely YOU. When I look back to the beginning, my heart aches for that which could have been, for now all that remains is anger, frustration, broken hearts and lives lost.

You sold us (the people of this country), a pipe dream, and we fell for it over and over. We wanted what you wanted, freedom of choice, speech, the right to defend ourselves and our properties, to prosper in a land where everyone was equal and to pursue happiness with a fervor no person had ever before seen. We are left with no choice now, only to believe that you changed your mind along the way, and so selfishly manipulated us to think you were still on our side.

We entrusted you to take care of us, to help us in our hour of need, to be there for us when we needed you most. You did none of those things. Rather, you spit in our faces, turned your back to us and have left us out in the cold time and time and TIME again. So, we are now emotionally, psychologically and physically tired of the cruel injustices you have forced upon us. We are DONE with YOU!

Equality was a founding principal of this union, and you have been no more equal than night and day. Persecuting a people simply because the color of their skin. The violence and injustices you have served to, not only people of color but ALL of us, are largely in part the gross representation of your TRUE nature. Selfishness begets selfishness. And YOU dear America, are the very definition of hypocrisy and bigotry.

We are sick and tired of being pushed around, dictated to, and all around abused by you and all your so called leaders. You have allowed those that took oaths, swore to uphold the laws, and bring due justice to those deserving, to be corrupted, crooked and dirty. All while you turned a blind eye to these instances and situations, your people have been suffering, crying, pleading with you to do something! You made promises you had no intention of keeping, gave us false hope and yet we STILL had faith in you!

We have reached the point of no return now. There is nowhere to lay the blame except at your feet. We have put blood, sweat and many tears into trying to build a nation we thought we ALL wanted. Apparently, we were the only ones that did. You have stripped away our freedoms, our pride, our dignity, our protection. But we will stand for this no longer, you see, we care for our neighbor, our friend, our brothers and sisters no matter their social status nor the color of their skin.

You do not care for us or even care what happens to us, so long as you can make a dollar. All the world's a stage and you are dead center with an overwhelming degree of stage fright. So thanks but no thanks. We can take better care of ourselves, our families and our neighbors than you can. You have lied to us and angered us so much so that we are destroying everything we built for YOU! That's right, the people of America, we built the buildings you occupy, the freeways you drive on and the homes you live in, but you forgot that. What we giveth, we can taketh away. Irony is a two way street, you must not have known.

Things will be better this way, trust us. We have grown apart and your true colors are shining bright. We are looking forward to a new way of life where everyone can finally and truly be equal, one which you will not be a part of. We will see you now and then and give a respectful salutation, because we do not want a fight , only life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
